Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMaison Vy was by far the best hotel in Vietnam!! The room was spacious, wonderfully decorated, everything was new and had a lovely ambience. We had a room overlooking their lovely pool and palm trees. Breakfast was great and made for us on the spot! What stood out however was the EXCEPTIONAL service of the people working there! They went above and beyond to help us out with various things - from booking tours to nearby islands to helping me retrieve my lost phone.. so kind, polite and helpful. I cannot recommend Maison Vy enough - it was an oasis in our trip! And I hope to come back there soon :)

United Kingdomit didn’t feel very clean - like the floors were a bit dusty and there were mosquitoes in the room that the staff were unable to get rid of. There is an empty plot next to the property where there are lots of roosters, hens and geese. They are incredibly noisy and they wake you up at 4.30! So we did not have the most restful sleep. The breakfast could be better - although the staff is very generous and don’t nitpick over what you can and cannot have.
it’s got a lot of character and is very green. The rooms are a good size. The beds are comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and very kind. They are very helpful. The Vietnamese coffee is lovely.

NetherlandsUnfortunately, we were terrorized by mosquitos for all three nights. Either there are some gaps or the cleaning staff leaves the door wide open while cleaning.
We felt at home right away when we checked in. The staff here is very welcoming and nice. The location of this hotel is also really good as you can bike or walk to almost every place in or around Hoi An. Their breakfast is also quite good, although I highly recommend them to include Italian style coffee alongside the Vietnamese style coffee.

Maison Vy is a moderately sized boutique hotel in a great location. The hotel is in the local style and the rooms are of average size. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and the water warm. It was quite peaceful at night. There are numerous other hotels and plenty of restaurants in the area. The old city is a 10 to 15 minute walk. The staff is amazing and attentive. My special thanks to Thanh, who went out of her way to assist me in quite an urgent matter. You're the best!

VietnamI wish they had internet TVs :( Breakfast was simple. There were only 2 options for the main dish: cao lau (Hoi An noodles) or baguette with fried eggs of choice. For dessert we had a big plate of fresh tropical fruits, yoghurt, juice/coffee and cupcakes. I wish they had more savoury dishes.
It took around 8 mins to walk to the old town. It was sunny but not too hot so the walk was not bad. Staff was helpful. They suggested coffee shops, restaurants, prepared the footbath service every night (free), arranged airport taxi... The bathroom was clean and airy. The hotel was trying their best to be more eco-friendly. They suggested, if not necessary, hanging bath towels instead of changing them new every day. Water was provided in glass bottles, not plastic ones. Tea was in jars with a spoon, not in tea bags. The ceiling fan helped a lot with ventilation and reduced the use of the AC.

Hong KongThis is my second time staying at Maison Vy. Am pleased to find the place and staff are both as top notch as I remembered. Staff was warm and welcoming. They were fast in responding our requests such as booking domestic flights, arranging car transfer etc. The pool is tranquil and clean. It’s an absolute sanctuary to retire to after a long hot day. The restaurants the staff recommend (part of their group) were also excellent. Highly recommend and I’ll return for sure. 10/10

CanadaThe pool is small and shallow, so it is only good for lounging around and sunbathing. There were limited options at breakfast, which was just ok. That was not a huge issue, though, because we wanted to explore the food in the city. Wifi was spotty, but we noticed that the internet service at most hotels in Vietnam were like that.
Maison Vy is absolutely gorgeous! Our room was spacious and well thought out, and I appreciated the commitment to environmentalism such as reusable glass bottles for water (instead of plastic water bottles like most hotels). The service was warm, efficient, and attentive, and everyone spoke English fluently.
