Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAlthough the room was very cool and ventilated (AC+Fan), my bed was in a bit of a dead zone, making the nights a bit hot. You won't have this problem with top-bunk beds.
The Owner of the Hostel is a very cool and helpful guy. Breakfast was always delicious and hearty. The prices for water, soft drinks and beer are extremely fair. Met some really great people there. The location is quite central, but still in a quiet alley.

ItalyI'd say that the downside of the location is that, being in district 3, there's no tour pick up direcly at the hostel, but in my case it was arranged a pick up via grab bike (which was kind of fun)
One of the best hostels I've stayed in so far! The staff is very friendly, helpful and flexible, and provides great recommendations, the place is clean, the vietnamese breakfasts very good. Location is in a quiet road. A plus for me was that it's managed by a Vietnamese family, which adds to the atmosphere.

CambodiaFor those without transport, they should consider the distance to the city center if you are not planning to stay for many days in HCMC. Sometimes takes time to move from Hostel to touristic areas due to traffic issues.
I guess it is a quite place for those ones who wanna stay away from the busy area; the venue is quite comfy and the host very friendly. This place in my opinion is closer to a Homestay than a Hostel. The host is very helpful as well. The breakfast is also delicious. I think you may consider a way of transport to move around.

CanadaOne day there was a huge storm in the city and some water leaked from the window even though it was closed. We told the staff and they were very quick to clean it and apologize.
The owner is super friendly and is a former local guide which is very helpful for asking him for advice about the city. The cleanliness is spotless, the room was very large, the bed big and comfortable, the breakfast good and varied day by day. In the lobby they sell drinks cheaper than in bars or restaurants so it’s great to just sit there to drink and meet other guests. The neighborhood is quiet but it’s centric and with many good food options

Such a great experience! I booked a bunk bed in a dorm room. It's quiet and I had a peaceful night. It amazed me with a spacious, clean and ventilating toilet and shower inside the room. The bed is good, blanket is good, comfy pillow. The atmosphere everywhere in the house and inside the room made me comfortable. It's clean everywhere, new and mordern facilities, free towel, free breakfast is offerred, and especially there is free refilled water. It seems that the host Mr Ha is really service-mindful and always looks for ways to improve the experience of the guests. Kudos to Aloha! ^^

CanadaThere isn't a kitchen but not a problem because the food is so reasonably priced in the area. There's also a fridge you can store some food in so no big deal at all!
I LOVE this place! There's so many things to love, but let's start with the basics. Amazingly clean, incredible staff, plenty of bathrooms and free breakfast. Now let's go to what makes this place special: - The staff/the family: Ha used to be a former tour guide so all his recommendations are spot on. He recommends all the local places so you're going to get amazing food and at local prices. He also genuinely cares for all the guests and will ensure that we're all having a good time. Also the random life chats are a huge bonus. He was so kind to me. I needed to go to a meditation center and he not only called the bus company to pick me up, he brought me to the station, spoke with the driver and was in contact to make sure I got there safely. 100 stars! - location: district 3, totally local, but super easy to get to the center. (Only a $2 Grab ride). You'll have super delicious, local eats at 1/3rd of the price of district 1 - Great list of recommendations on the wall of things to do, places to eat, where to go - the breakfast...omg the breakfast.. changes each day and is made by Ha's mother in law. You sit down and she comes and brings you the most delicious of breakfasts...noodles or bread plus some fresh fruit - the local fruit cart: comes by the hostel at around 8am and you can buy fresh fruit like coconuts, oranges or durian at prices cheaper than the store. Also the woman who brings it is super sweet! - WhatsApp: when you arrive, Ha will send you a list of recommended restaurants, sim card information, tours, tour company information and more. Also loved that the restaurant list was all local spots and there's tons of vegetarian options there. - free filtered water - the vibe: really amazing people are attracted here and I met some great friends where we travelled onwards together. TLDR: just go. No disappointment possible 😁😁😁

MyanmarSome people in the dorm are annoyed by being a bit noisy at times. To be fair, which is to be expected in dorm and nothing the owner can do about it. There is rooftop wifi area and people walking hard on the floor may disturb you while you are resting. Overall wonderful stay and great value for money.
The Hostel is very well organised. The rooms are clean and the host is very nice.
