Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MyanmarSome people in the dorm are annoyed by being a bit noisy at times. To be fair, which is to be expected in dorm and nothing the owner can do about it. There is rooftop wifi area and people walking hard on the floor may disturb you while you are resting. Overall wonderful stay and great value for money.
The Hostel is very well organised. The rooms are clean and the host is very nice.

HungaryI missed out on free breakfast cause I didn't know it was only till 9 :(
I never give a 10 for a hostel simply because its a hostel... but this one was extremely clean and comfortable. I only spent one night there but I was very happy with the place and the owners were super nice. They take a really good care of everything and they have a good attention to detail for example making sure that the towels are fresh and clean and not dump or discoloured. The bathroom is huge and brand new. I felt very comfortable there and would definitely recommend it.

this is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at—it’s in a good location, the free breakfast is great, rooms are spacious and clean, free drinking water and great common area. (the rooftop is a plus as well!) The owner, Ha, is also incredibly nice, funny and really cares about his guests. he has a TON of suggestions for places to see in HCMC and will even put together a mini itinerary for you! I would come back to this hostel just because of how amazing him and his family are.

The big room for the female dorm, which was very clean with private curtains and private bathroom that was inside of female dorm room, so I didn't have to go out for long way, and the bathroom was so clean even we had full travelers in the dorm, with a good pressure shower! And it's also included the amazing breakfast in every day with different menus. Also, it was quite a real local area without any noises, so it was so perfect to stay here for 3 nights of Ho Ch Minh. One more thing, if I add, is that the owner of this hostel 'Ha' has amazing knowledges of Vietnam because he worked as a tour guide for his whole life, so he can help you with all the questions about Vietnam!!!🇻🇳

Russia-
I like a long list of things: care for guests, general cleanliness, comfortable mattress and wide bed, spacious modern dorms, hot water in nice glass bathrooms, and good Wi-Fi. They also have a lounge space on the ground floor and rooftop chillout area. The payment for a dorm includes an excellent breakfast. Often, this is one or another soup made from noodles, vegetables, and mushrooms, as well as a piece of fruit - a good start to the day. You also can have a mug of hot instant coffee. You can re-fill your bottles with clean drinking water for free - as much as you want. Thus, you will save money and the ocean as well if you care. The hostel has thought out the details well. For example. When you arrive in a new place, finding a good restaurant that is both tasty and inexpensive takes a lot of time. But in this hostel, they send you a list of local cafes and restaurants in the area on Whatsapp. I've personally checked part of this list - very tasty and at local prices. For example, I love a clean and friendly shop cooking and selling vegetarian banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) - 0.7$ for one piece. When I have 2 of them + iced coffee (0.8$), it makes a good dinner. A plate of rice and chicken will cost only 1.4$ (35.000 dong) in a restaurant in the area of Aloha Saigon Hostel. The hostel is located on a quiet alley (no traffic noise, no nightclubs) in the safe district - a sort of middle-class neighborhood; no stray dogs, no extreme poverty here; inexpensive restaurants and diverse local life (many Catholic churches here in labyrinths of alleys). The hostel is situated 3 km away from the heart of the central Saigon, Ben Thanh Market area. You can travel there by bus #28 (also #4, #152); a bus ticket costs 0.2-0.3$. Take #7 to go to Cholon (aka Saigon's Chinatown).
