We loved the room, a 16th floor suite. A few minor defects but we really enjoyed staying in one of the grand Soviet-era hotels. The staff were excellent, special thanks to Abdulla. Location is very good, very central with metro stations nearby.

Really, really, really disappointed by hotel masons starting renovation work at 23 o clock and continuing well beyond 1 a.m. For the first time in my life had to exit the room to complain about this crazy and unprofessional situation. Well they kept for other 20 minutes. I presume bathroom was never renovated, need to upgrade bath to shower are remove those terrible plastic curtains.

For a modernist architecture lover it is a must in Tashkent. From previous reviews actually i expected far worse than experience i had. Reception service quality is high and breakfast abundant and with large sweet choice (a thing particularly important for an italian :-) ).

It was all OK for me.

Nice cosmopolitan place with a lively lobby with a coffee shop selling drinks snacks and pleasant place to wait for flights meet people and pass time. Big efforts to cover up the intourist history: charming elements remain visible though.

It was very noisy because someone (or shop? disco?) sounded rock music till 4:00AM. I was wondering why the hotel staff didn't pay attention to it.

This is monumental hotel during Soviet Union era. Very good location closed to famous Timur statue. Price is very reasonable, I think.

The rooms are a little bit dated... but what do you expect? It's an hotel that's over 50 years old. the rooms were big and clean. People were complaining in the reviews, that the concrete would hide the view outside. It's the design of the hotel! that everybody is taking photos of. You do have a view outside, with a look onto the park, however it's obvious that the concrete squares, that build the design, are mounted outside your window. I really can't complain about my stay. Everybody was super friendly.

I booked a room for 2 nights at this awesome hotel. Despite reading many bad reviews, I expected the worst, although I wanted to try this iconic hotel in Tashkent. The check-in went flawless, the staff was really friendly, and it took me only a couple of minutes to get my room-card. As soon as I stepped into the hotel, I really like the "antique" vibe, the slow piano music, the vintage look of the lobby. They also had a lovely bar, where some customers would spend the evening with a drink or two. The prices were super fair. Thanks to Timur, for the friendly chats, and great cocktails! The location of the hotel was very convenient, there are some restaurants in walking distance. A big park is just in front of the entrance. A subway station is just around the corner. So I couldn't complain about the location. I didn't had the chance to check out their breakfast as I was waking up too late.

Rooms facing front of hotel have view obstructed by the design of metal structure. 70’s Russian Brutalist architecture, Instagram worthy but impractical. Hallway carpet needs replacing or at least a shampoo. Popular with large tour groups. The top floor restaurant was tragic and lonely with a poor Russian vibe.

Breakfast was good and varied. Plenty of seating in the lobby. Rooms facing rear of hotel have two balconies, brighter and very quiet. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were friendly and competent.

Bad wifi in the rooms, average breakfast, expensive for Uzbekistan. When the receptionist booked us a taxi to the airport, she didnt inform us that there were two terminals, and just assumed we were flying international without asking. This caused a major delay, a lot of stress and some extra cash for us.

Nice to stay in such a historical building and the view was great. Great location on Amir Temur Square, near metro and great restaurants.

    - No AC in the room. - The hotel is old so the rooms look and feel quite old too. Some parts of the room were quite dusty and the carpet didn't look in the best condition.

    - The hotel is huge and it is located in a top location. At walk-able distance you can go behind the hotel and you see a street full of top cafes, restaurants, ice cream shops, bakery, etc. - The room is also quite big and it has a balcony attached to it. The bed was quite comfortable too. - Breakfast has a lot of options too but go early as it can get quite crowded.

The lock of our door was funny, we couldn't unlock it from inside in our first tries, which was a little scary. The tap of the bathroom sink was very far away and my daughter couldnt reach it, although she is tall enough for most taps these days.

We were happy to experience this iconic hotel, it was a safe and solid option. The room was as you would expect, a little tired, but spacious and had 2 balconies (which one of them wasnt accessible and the other hadnt been used for a while, since it was dusty) I think the cutest thing was the pot of coffee in the breakfast buffet for everyone! Usually hotels like this serve coffee with modern coffee/espresso machines, but I guess that since the indifference towards coffee as a nation anyway, it was the most they felt was possible to do. But the effort was so cute! They just have that much of a stronger tea culture, so not complaining :) The hotel staff was really welcoming and nice, they allowed to keep our luggage before check in and after check out because we were early, and later had plenty of time until our flight. They always assisted us with ordering a taxi.

Even though service was generally forthcoming, we've had a housekeeping issue: when making up our room, staff forgot about bringing a garbage can and toilet paper. We've had to contact reception four times about the issue and it took 4 hours, counting from the first try, to get it solved. Also, even though our superior room was decent, the bathtub was in a state of slight disrepair, and we couldn't figure out how to control one of the two ages-old AC units in the room so it just buzzed away constantly.

The hotel offers incredible value. It is quite literally built onto a subway station with access to the Chilonzor and Yunusobod lines, it's central yet 15 minutes from the airport by car, and it costs a fraction of what the large Western hotel chains next door would charge you. It is well-equipped with a 24/7 exchange office, 4 ATMs for local and international cards of all flavors, a supermarket, acceptable wi-fi, and several bars. Breakfast is definitely diverse and above average, if not superb, in quality, and the rooms are in decent condition as well. Add to that the charm of Soviet architecture, and you got yourself a compelling, authentic base for visiting the city.

The Vienna bar ,the friendly staff, and our room was designed for English people because you could use your 3 pinned electric plugs, which we thought was great.

We found the restaurant on the floor, not to our taste, we bought a bottle of Georgian wine, which was very sweet ,like sucking a sugar cube, and food wasn't extra special either. The Vienna bar is excellent, though.
