Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy only complaint is one of us had to sleep on the rattan couch and it was very uncomfortable, even to sit in was not the best.
The cottages are original and are full of charm, wood floors, wooden doors, original door handles, and lots of nook and cranny’s. If you are looking for a crowded touristy resort this is not it. I so enjoyed the peace and quiet. The lanai was large and spacious and the space in between cottages is good. Restaurant on site was very good.

United StatesOn southwest side of island so great for Port Allen, fishing, Kanapali cruises. But a bit far from Lihue and the northern portion of the island. The cottages are decent but antiquated.
Beautiful plantation setting on the coast. Quaint cottages. Privacy was a real plus.

SwitzerlandThe infrastructure is a bit dated or „rustic“. The chairs on the deck could be a bit more comfortable.
The Director‘s Cottage is greatly located, you fall asleep with the ocean’s waves.

Such a beautiful property! As someone who does not like resorts, this is perfect! Separate cottages which makes you feel as if you have your own. Beautiful grounds!

Amazing property! Incredible relaxing grounds, chairs and hammocks everywhere, nice facilities and right on the beach. Restaurant on site too (not a ton of other options in the area). It gave an a inclusive feel without the “eek” of an all inclusive

AustraliaCottage was a little dated and one of the aircons smelled a little funky.
We chose the location to be close to the Canyon, be mindful that there is not much else around, we enjoyed the absence of tourism. Cute cottages, very friendly service, beautiful grounds. Has a fully equipped kitchen in the cottage and a guest laundry in the grounds. Aircon and ceiling fans in every room, cute deck to sit on.

United KingdomNothing really
Charming collection of old cottages on site fronting a quiet beach. The cottages are all slightly different, but well equipped, comfortable and clean. It is charming and understated . The details on the Booking.com site really undersell the property. There are beautiful sunsets and the grounds are lovely to walk in. The property does have an independently run restaurant and bar on site. Close to the Waimea Canyon, so you can get a morning head start on other visitors.

United StatesThe town of Waimea seemed somewhat depressed. Many businesses closed or run down. Don't know if was seasonal or permanent.
Laid back and super clean. Loved the simplicity of the cottages yet seemed elequent as if were "top o the line" from an era gone by. So many places we stay (AirBB, etc) like to show off their "trinkets & decor" that it leaves no room to unpack your own items. All the rooms were spacious and very well maintained.

United StatesWe had a really nice stay at Waimea Plantation Cottages. We had a one bedroom, ocean front cottage that was great. It was the perfect size for a couple, and we really enjoyed having a small kitchen to prepare some of our own meals and having the covered patio where we had coffee each morning. It was also nice having our own lawn chairs where we could sit in the sun. The property was beautiful and it was nice to be able to walk right to the beach (good beach for walking, maybe not swimming). It's a perfect location if you want to spend a couple days exploring Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park. It was also 5 minutes from the Kikialo small boat harbor where we launched from for a Na Pali Coast boat tour which was nice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they had a lot of amenities available to guests for free. I would definitely stay here again.
