Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe elevator was quite slow. There were 2 elevators (a bit old I’d say) and at busy times it would take a while to get a lift. Not a bit deal though!
The hotel is very central in Manhattan, close to the subway and the main attractions that are walking distance. The rooms are not super big but nice and clean. I would recommend it!

United KingdomIt's definitely not a 4 star worthy hotel. There was no wardrobe, so basically no place to store our clothes, no fridge/minibar and only one chair. Moreover, I don't understand why they use these 1-ply toilet papers... It's not environmentally friendly, as you need to use 3 times the normal amount, because they are REALLY thin.
Amazing location, nice and helpful staff, really comfy bed! All in all it's a good deal for your money, however...

IsraelRooms are pretty small, especially once you put the luggage inside, so if you plan to spend a lot of time inside, it might not be the most comfortable option for everyone
Great staff, always ready to assist. The location is unbeatable—within walking distance of popular attractions and also conveniently close to the subway.

NigeriaJust one attendant at the bar/food order desk and couldn't get the desk when calling from the room, even when reception tried to transfer the call .Always had to come to the ground floor to place an order.
The hotel was comfortable and well located. Walking distance from Time Square and Port Authority Bus Station and Penn Station. Room size was just okay with a safe, iron/ironing board, kettle, working Tv, and good water pressure. Room temperature was good with working AC, which required a bit of patience to understand how it worked. Access to the lift was smooth, unlike what I had read in some reviews about long waiting times. The water refill station at the reception was very helpful as it was July and extremely hot

NorwayElevators was not very efficient in the weekend when the hotel was full, but worked well the other days. Breakfast was not great but ok.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, and the beds were comfortable. We travelled with our two kids (10 and 13) and we had a great stay. You choose the breakfast from a menu, there was also a kids menu. We wanted to book a private taxi back to the airport and we got really good help from John in the reception to book a luxury car for only $20 more than we would have to pay for the shared drive you could order at the concierge at the hotel. The driver was on time (sharp) and the car was really nice and comfortable. All in all very happy with our stay.

PhilippinesNo option for sit-down breakfast. Also right outside the main door at night were the big trash bins
Bed and pillows are topnotch quality. Reception staff are helpful and friendly. Lobby has great vibe though on the compact side as cocktail bar is just beside the elevator. Location is a 5 min walk to Penn Station

United KingdomThe lady on the concierge desk in the lobby (a separate company to the hotel) is SOOOO RUDE!! She organises the airport transfers and seems literally disgust when she has to do it, I’ve never known anything like it. I mentioned to the front desk who said they are nothing to do with them as they are a separate company. Also the rooms have nowhere to put clothes away. No drawers or wardrobe so we did have to live out of our cases but not really much space to have those out as the rooms are pretty small.
Very comfortable bed and you get money to spend in the car each day. Free popcorn and water in the lobby too. Bathroom nice size and everything very clean.

AustraliaThe lifts are slow and 1 wasn't working, which meant we were constantly waiting to get up and down. We didn't have an option for the stairs being on the high level and had 2 prams. A mini fridge would be good.
Great location, walking distance to times square and loads of food options. Room although small (very normal for NY) is set up perfectly We had room to fit our bags and ourselves (which believe me is not always the case in NY hotels) The welcome drink was a lovely thought, but we would have preferred to choose the drink. The $10 daily voucher is a nice touch, but its a shame it's not able to be used for breakfast (bar only)
