Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Statesbedding wasn't really up to our liking. Double Bed seems probably smaller than our expectation. One of the elevators were out of service during our stay, which made it a long wait for accessing the room or leaving the hotel for the day.
location location location! just a short stroll to the Penn Station, which was really easy and convenient to get there, especially if you're getting to NYC/Times Square by train/subway. The hotel and rooms are furnished modern, bright, and airy.

ArgentinaThe room looked bigger on the pictures. And I have paid for a city view room that ended up being a high floor but not street view. Debatable whether that was a city view. In the picture city view had a lot of light and the street view. And two elevators that never worked together made getting in and out the room quite a challenge
The staff was very very helpful and the hotel was in a lively area. It was not fancy but not very expensive. A relatively good balance for the price.

ItalyLocation wise, the presence on the street around the hotel of people with behaviour that can be disturbing. Maybe something that one would also experience elsewhere in NYC.
Great location next to train/metro station/Times square. Competent staff and most of them very kind. Very tasty breakfast. Room was clean, well arranged and maintained, and bed was comfortable. We opted for a room with a city view. The view was decent, nothing to write home about, but added to the overall effect.

Australia- lifts can be very slow. We took the stairs a few times instead - there are homeless people that frequent the street, however I didn’t feel scared or worried at any time - fridge doesn’t automatically come with the room however you can request one
- free welcome drink on day of arrival - cold water available to fill up your water bottles - the bed and pillows were so comfortable! - great location, 1 block away from subway entrance and 2 blocks away from Penn station which was very helpful as we got the LIRR to JFK airport. - staff were friendly and helpful - can leave your luggage with the hotel on day of checkout
