Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThis hotel offers good value for money and a privileged location in the heart of Waikiki. Rooms are standard and have everything you need, even bathrobes. The hotel comes with some nice perks like a healthy breakfast with plenty of options, filtered water and free coffee all day long, and free-of-charge beach amenities (chairs, umbrellas, mats, toys for kids, etc.). The beach is just two blocks away, and public buses to the airport and Ala Moana (transfer to Kailua/Lanikai beach - a must go!) stop next door. Even the Diamond Head hike is within walking distance. The lack of a pool was not a deal breaker - let's be sincere, you don't travel all the way to Hawaii to lie down at the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, this was the right choice for our vacation in Hawaii.

United StatesIt would have been nice to have a balcony and access to a pool, but we understood those wouldn’t be available given the boutique nature of the Vive.
The location was great - only two blocks from Waikiki Beach and various restaurants, shopping, and convenience stores. The breakfast was adequate, with a good selection of fruit, breads, and proteins. I definitely took advantage of the always-available hot coffee throughout the day!

South AfricaThey don't clean the rooms well - very lazy. Bathrooms weren't clean had to notify reception before they were cleaned properly. The hold on your credit card takes forever to release. Quite stupid, should be faster or dont take a deposit. Very inconvenient.

United StatesMinus they gave only very small refrigerator and no microwave inside the room and ac is the old style that made noise.
This hotel is cheaper than others, only 5min walks to waikiki beach. They provide breakfast, water refill, beach gear (umbrella, tote bag, cooler bag, beach chair, swimming board, beach towel, etc), coffee and tea 24 hr. ❤️ staffs are nice. Especially that helping with the valet parking.

CanadaThe room had a musty smell, and we could never get a beach umbrella, even when we checked at 6 a.m All the umbrellas were gone. When we checked in on Tuesday, all the common area carpets were very clean.By the time we checked out on Saturday, most common area carpets were looking dirty (i.e., none of the hallways, elevators, or rugs looked as if they had been vacuumed in days.
Breakfast was great, room was very comfortable and I can't say enough about how fantastic the customer service was.

AustraliaIf I were to criticize one thing it would be the Air Conditioning. AC was supplied by an "in window" unit that was noisy, really noisy. If you switched it off it was too warm in the room, leaving it running and there was a constant noise all night.
I rated The Vive as good because it is a good hotel, in my mind it can't be excellent as I would rate the expensive resort hotels on the beach excellent but I'd be spending more for a night in them than I dod for 3 nights in The Vibe. Having said that for what we wanted and needed it was very good, a block from the beach but right on the main bus route it was perfectly situated. Clean and tidy and a great place to base yourself out of. I would recommend it to anyone who wants more and is doing more on their visit to Honolulu than staying in a resort, save your money, stay at The Vibe and spend it getting out and about instead.

United StatesRoom cleaning could have been more reliable. I had requested to have my room cleaned at a certain time each day, but whenever I didn't check on it again on my way out it didn't happen. Soap and some other products weren't replenished at times and had to be requested.
I was making this trip for my birthday and was welcomed with a nice note and basket. My Junior Suite room was very spacious and had everything I needed. The location of the hotel is great, close to the beach with lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is included and was excellent, staff was fantastic throughout.
