Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomI expected the hotel to be subpar based on other reviews but some were good enough so we thought we would risk it for the cost and location. We booked a family room and were “upgraded” to a bigger one but it had seriously seen better days. Every piece of furniture was chipped and/or stained and there is no way you would have felt safe to put someone in the top bunk. The shower took forever to warm up, no ventilation in the bathroom and the pressure was poor. There is no ambient lighting in the room. It looked as though the lights near the bed had been deliberately disconnected. The lifts took forever, and people overfilled them as a result. This didn’t feel safe, and they felt very jerky.
The location is really good, a 5 minute walk from Times Square and plenty of subway stations around. Staff on reception were pleasant and the cleaning staff were super helpful. Room was large, particularly for NY.

United StatesWe were on the 6th floor, one elevator was out of operation on Saturday night. Sunday at checkout the other elevator was being used by the cleaning staff. All through the night there were doors slamming, which I understand is outside of the hotels control. I am not sure if there is a nightclub in the same building but you can hear the beat of music until around 3am. The shower head sits at about 4.5 feet, it is adjustable from about 2 feet. Showering as a 6 foot person was interesting, especially when the shower curtain rod fell off.

United StatesHOT!!! The ac doesn't work. It just makes noise. And it feels that way everywhere in the hotel, not just the room. The window was slightly open and i couldn't close it. So I feel like that helps add to the noise in the room. If they could fix the air in that place, I would definitely go back though.
The hotel looked really nice and was a short walk to Hamilton, which is why I was there. It was mostly clean also. The staff were great and very helpful.

No fridge. Dusty. Needs a major upgrade. Windows filthy. Lights over bed not working. Wasn’t a cheap place to stay. But it should have been given the poor standard of room etc. The best part was the restaurant downstairs attached to the gallivant excellent food and service
