Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe waiting staff sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed; perhaps they were new. Can't think of anything else.
Very central, so great location. Breakfast was not bad, especially compared to other places. Great design and comfortable beds.

United StatesI wish I could park my own car and retrieve it, but of course, that is pretty impossible in a downtown area. The valet parking was just fine, with hardly any wait at all. And they can bring it around early if you have an early flight.
The hotel is in a great place, next to many Civil Rights sights, restaurants and the River area. It's also a beautiful hotel, and the rooftop bar and restaurant is really nice. If you're interested in the city's history, this is the perfect area.

United StatesThe smaller size and character of the hotel were very appealing. We also enjoyed the open air rooftop restaurant and bat. Having a Starbucks adjacent to the lobby proved very convenient for early morning departures.

United StatesBreakfast should be included in the room rate - just my opinion Also, I left behind some clothes in the closet of the room. It's been a week now that I have been working to get them shipped back to me with no luck. I'm really disappointed about that and am still hopeful there will be some resolution. I've had conversation with housekeeping and the manager but no action to resolve the problem. I realize I am at fault but I called less than an hour after check out trying to be proactive but so far not a good ending.
Beautiful hotel property and close to the fabulous Central for diner. The rooms were super well appointed with small details considered and the bed were extremely comfortable. The person at the front desk when I checked in was most helpful and friendly.

United StatesI prefer hard floors over carpet and I love a tub bath although the shower was nice! There was no charger cord for the makeup mirror, or at least, we couldn’t find one. We set the AC on 64 degrees because we like sleeping when it’s colder, but it never got cool enough.
The lighted cabinets and their layout. The rooms are very nicely designed and updated. It’s great they offered a makeup mirror, even though we couldn’t find the cord to it. It was very clean!

United StatesBeautiful rooms and public spaces. Beverly at front desk is superb! Great breakfasts at Kinsmith each morning with great playlist. Rooftop bar is beautiful setting but night we were there service was very problematic. Seemed like enough waitstaff but drinks had to come up from downstairs. Figure this is a staffing and maybe training glitch they can work out. Service in downstairs restaurant was impeccable. We were able to get laundry done with same day service (thank you, Beverly). Hotel location is great -short walk to Legacy Museum and across the street from Central Restaurant (excellent dinner choice). Just a beautiful property snd experience.

United StatesI thought the hallways smelled a little stale but not bad. The TV in the fitness center did not have a remote so we could not turn on TV and they could not find the remote.
I liked the architecture and the Starbucks connected to the hotel. I thought the lobby was really neat and the fitness room was great. The bed was comfortable and nice roomy bathroom.

United KingdomOver-priced compared to other similar standard hotels in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville. Not all staff that knowledgable (one didn't know directions to Legacy Museum) Roof-top bar for over 21's only so we couldn't enjoy that as a family (not advised in advance).
This is clearly a gorgeous hotel - design is really stunning. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast service in restaurant was great.

United StatesManager on duty was difficult but eventually after much consternation fixed the situation. Stated she didn’t have the type room we booked but after unnecessary back in forth said she could have a room after 7 pm when a late 6pm checkout would leave.I told her that was unsatisfactory as we were attending a concert at 7pm. She then said she had an 11pm check-in coming so she would give us their room and they could take the late checkout room. This all took about 20 minutes trying to check in when the bottom line was she was trying to boot us to a room of her choosing because we had booked the room with booking.com when the real issue was they allowed a 6pm checkout in the room we reserved. Totally unprofessional attitude and obviously under trained. As a Marriott Bonvoy member it was subpar to my experience with a Marriott property.

United StatesThicker walls?? I don't know. It was rough. I came away from my staycation exhausted from lack of sleep. For what I paid, I've learned the best isn't always the best. I'm scared to stay there again in case the walls are just as thin as the suite's were.
I had a suite on the top floor with a large balcony. The room was very nice, but my GOSH, the noise level on that floor was excruciating! I got hardly any sleep and had to take a nap when I got home! Kids were running up and down the halls, and doors were slamming ALL DAY LONG (I stayed in the room most of the time), causing my walls to shake. The loudness permeated through the paper-thin walls. It was the worst experience I'd ever had. And for an average of $600 per night for my suite, I felt cheated. Also, the rooftop bar - which is a HUGE draw for this hotel - was not opening until the following weekend. And no one bothered to tell the booked guests in advance. Then again, the rooftop bar is on the same floor as my room so I can only imagine the noise it would generate so maybe I should count my blessings! That said, the location was perfect for what I needed, and I've never had nicer staff in a hotel. Everyone was attentive, talkative, and friendly.

United StatesThere was a strong smell of smoke in the hallways and in our room, but less. I saw a barbecue place behind the hotel. Perhaps the intake of the ventilation was pulling that in. Sickening. As we left, the fire alarm went off and fire trucks came. Don’t know what that was.
The room was nice, clean. The staff was friendly. The design of the room good.
