It would have been ideal if there would have been an elevator. We were on the second floor and there was a lot of stairs to carry our suitcases up. Because of our age, it made it a little difficult. Next time, I’ll ask for the ground floor.

Staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We were visiting a friend and the location was very close to where she lives.

Room was cold. Unit door was funky and hard to operate. Once, the sliding blinds got stuck and we couldn't go in or out. And the blinds were broken so people could see into our room if they wanted to. The toilet/shower room was very cramped. And the pipes were noisy - we could hear loud noise when any neighbor showered. And -- our room was on top floor so lots of stairs for me - 86+ years old - to climb and descend. No elevator.

Breakfast was OK - met or exceeded our expectations. A staff member ran over and assisted me with carrying my suitcase upstairs. Location would be terrific when butterflies are in the Monarch Grove. Location is near lots of walking paths along the bay.

I have stayed here before in the past but the property has become run down. What passed for rustic and funky has become rather shabby . Our second floor room was hard to reach due to mobility issues. The two flights of stairs were torture devices.

The rooms are layered in different levels, and so it's easy to see each other's rooms if the windows and doors aren't closed off with shutters since our rooms.had balconies. The shower is low, so it is not ideal for tall people.

The view from our room on the second floor had a direct view of the ocean. Quiet and peaceful.

The idea of the "French" family was to find the American-style motel off the beaten path. So, we weren't disappointed. Close to Monterey, Carmel, and the 17 Mile Drive. The US-made motel is ideally located, with comfortable beds, spacious rooms, coffee maker... everything is perfect... with peace and quiet (in May). A big thank you to the reception team who connected us on the chat for our arrival.

Almost zero view of ocean and I requested ocean view, the heat was really hard to regulate, we had to move a super heavy chair out of the way to find the heater, there was a gap under door so drafty, super noisy, you could hear the pipes when other guests took showers

The room was clean enough, but things like the tub grout were old and it showed. The room was kinda musty, but that is to be expected from these old buildings, with minimal ventilation.

Great Location, walk to the tide pools/beach and historic lighthouse. For the price, we got what we expected. The staff was friendly, overall good value.

Clean rooms, fairly comfortable beds. Actually had smart tv’s that could be used as such. Rooms had real keys, something I haven’t seen in years!

They did not offer breakfast as listed, the sliding screen door did not close due to being off the tracks and there were ants all over the room.

I loved the locations, the staff was fantastic and I loved the sliding glass door room entry. It was very close to the beach and downtown. It is also located next to a great little resturant.

Our fridge in 106 leaked the entire time we were there. We put towels by it and it soaked the carpet too. Not a huge deal but the fridge still worked for us. This is just a preference for myself, but the bed was so stiff. It was hard to sleep at night with all the outdoor noises (foot steps, people talking, and cars). The heater was behind the big chair on the wall so we had to move the chair every time we wanted to use the heater.

The room was spacious, balcony was very nice, and the walking distance to places is great.

the so called breakfast (a croisant in a box) is not a good idea.

a croisant (in a box) is not my breakfast so best to bring your own as we did. The beds are perfect (firm) and room is super quiet. Big screen TV.
