Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

QatarAbsolutely unfriendly reception staff. We had an ugly view to brick wall and ventilation system from our windows - maybe it’s NY city style) There is no lobby bar with snacks and drinks.
Perfect location, all tourists attractions are very close. There are a lot of nice restaurants around. Pretty nice room, very cute and friendly cleaning ladies. Clean rooms)

South AfricaThe night before my check out, I noticed that the hotel had mistakenly been debuting my card even though I had prepaid my trip via booking. I alerted the manager and he quickly reversed the transaction, which I appreciated but unfortunately it will take a few days for the funds to reflect back into my account.
The staff was professional and friendly, the room was of a good size, the location was ideal for Manhattan. I was really happy to stay here.

United StatesWhile the bed was comfortable, the blanket was a little thin for my liking (Im sure I could have asked for extra blanket if necessary). The bathroom was small, that's normal for NYC, but it also had no ventilation fan or window for when showering.
Great location! Close to the subway and lots of shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the T.V. had Netflix.

United StatesI felt there was no need of resort fee for this hotel. It's just a tight spaced regular hotel, nothing special. There were no other amenities as well. Did not understand what is the need for extra fee.

United StatesThe only down side was not having a microwave and coffee maker. It was great to find a hotel with a refrigerator, but without a microwave there was no way to eat the food I brought home. It was also not fun to have to walk somewhere to get coffee instead of be able to make it in my room or get it in the lobby.
Location was perfect! It was right off Harold Square with prime shopping, weekend events, subway connections for nearly every line, and some great food options. I recommend folks who want to be in the heart of the city to stay in this hotel in Midtown.

United KingdomNo tea/coffee facilities in the room. (Should have packed a travel kettle and tea bags!) Hadn't expected to get breakfast as we knew there would be lots of places to eat in the area. That being said, the hotel informed us that their new restaurant will be opening fairly soon, which should be excellent addition to the hotel. Lift and hot water sometimes a bit slow, but we shouldn't always need to be in such a rush anyway. Sadly, there are homeless people sleeping on the streets in the area, and waking up in a city centre is where we do see people with no resources of their own, waking up like us. Area didn't feel unsafe or threatening and we walked to bars and restaurants fairly late at night without issue.
Hotel lobby smelt amazing, staff were very attentive. Room was large, very stylish, comfortable and very clean. View from the window of the Empire State Building which was in the street behind the hotel. I loved the huge bay window, and could open 4 of the 5 windows and listen to the New York City noise, great sounds to wake up to! Air-con worked well, easy to use. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels replenished daily, plus compliamentary bottles of water. TV, towel robes, walk-in wardrobe, safe, fridge, hairdryer. The room decor was stylish and our time in the room, was very pleasant. Excellent position to visit New York. Lots of places in walking distance. Subway, end of the street. Hotel between 5th and 6th Avenue, who could want more? Penn Station couple of streets away - walk with suitcases possible and Air-train to Airport was good.

CanadaThe only drawback was that they mentioned free laundry for 1 shirt if brought before 9 am, when I took it to desk, I was told that things have changed and they charge for the laundry. So we had to go buy some clothes as we ran out due to the hot weather.
The location was superb since it was just 5 minute walk to nearest subway station. Also, Macy's, Times Square, Restaurants, shopping and entertainment was all just few steps away from the hotel. The hotel did not have any restaurant or spa but they had fitness center. The lobby looked great and the hotel was very clean and rooms comfortable and spacious! Bathroom was tiny but nice. I read reviews of having slow elevators, but I did not experience anything like that. We visited NYC in summer and as we reached the hotel, the staff provided us water bottles and put extra in our room everyday. I appreciate their hospitality. Check in and check out was great, as they stored our luggage for late check out at no extra cost. I booked this hotel about a month in advance, so we got great value for money. Highly recommended for those looking to stay in mid Manhattan!

Czech RepublicWe expected better window insulation since the hotel is located in Mannhattan, the streets are really noisy and without earplugs we wouldn't have slept. The staff wasn't so friendly and helpful when I told them that the cleaner had lost my pyjamas. Stayed in better hotels for this price.
The hotel was located in the heart of Manhattan, close to everything. Rooms were smaller, but had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. We had new water refilled daily in our room.

NetherlandsThe hotel lobby has a little very nice bar, but it was always closed or not in use. If open, it would have made the atmosphere at the lobby area much nicer and would have offered additional facilities at the guests. It miss also some additional facilities such as breakfast. However, there are plenty of options in the neighbourhood.
The 2 rooms allocated to us were nice and met the expectations. The hotel building is very nice and well maintained

United StatesThis is a boutique hotel, so no bar, no restaurant,
The room was quiet, nicely appointed, and had plenty of windows. The bed was fantastic as were the pillows (3 varieties of firmness). The ninth floor corner room was far above the street noise. There was a subway station at the corner about 250 yards from the hotel, so very convenient. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.
