Great hotel in a really good location. A bar, restaurant, bakery and shop right around the corner. The hosts are great by making your stay enjoyable and comfortable. I wish I had an extra day! It’s almost a shame there is so much to do around here as you are just staying at the hotel for a short time.

Of course, the rooms are not as isolated and sound-proof as in your ordinary Best Western etc but that's all part of the "haunted house experience". Just imagine you hear the long dead gold diggers walking around on the squeaking wooden floors...

A cliché perhaps but walking into the legendary Bodie Hotel is like stepping into a time machine... Back to Bodie in the 1800's! Not your ordinary aseptic 50 in a dozen hotel/motel but a real experience. Go for it ! Btw, the wifi is NOT 1800's-style but the BEST we had on the road !

Our experience was amazing and yours will be too of you keep in mind that this is a historic hotel and NOT a Four Seasons. The building is old, the floors will creak, and there won't be an elevator - that's how it should be!

Location was right in the middle of town so easy walking to everything. Owner Jeff was AWESOME- took extra time to give us tips on what to do in the area, recommend restaurants, and even lent us flashlights to go check out the historic jail at night. Room was huge and beds were super soft!

I know Jeff and Jo want to keep the hotel as period as possible, but it could use a little more lighting in the room.

My best friend and I stayed at The Bodie Hotel for a week at the end of August. The Hotel is an 1800s hotel with period rooms that were clean and comfortable. Jeff and Jo (the owners) went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They were friendly and always asked if we needed anything. We talked with Jeff about local fishing areas and where he was having any luck. We enjoyed out stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Only thing I would mention is that there was a single step at the threshold of the bathroom (due to updating a very old building). Probably no problem at all if you have good eyesight.

We loved the way the owners have decorated the lobby areas: lots of interesting antiques. We also appreciated the seating in an adjoining television room. The host was very friendly and helpful during our stay and our beds were very comfortable. Easy parking.

Jeff, the tenant was super great at the checkin! He took time to ask how was our stay so far and where we were going tomorrow giving us advice for our trip to Bodie He also told is about the restaurants in town and we loved it! We had a real sense of the US in that restaurant! The rooms are cute and old style, everything you will not get in a chain of hôtels. The air conditionning is great and quiet. I recommend it 100% if you want something authentic.

The location of the Bodie Hotel was superb, situated in a quaint small town. As many other reviews highlight, the two owners Jeff and Jo are very friendly and welcoming. The Bodie's decor is very cool. It's the perfect place to stay if doing a road trip, as was my reasoning.

It's an old building so expectations should be realistic. We liked the room despite the bathroom being compact. Everything worked very well.

Very nice little hotel with lots of character. The building goes back to the Victorian age.

This is an old building and you can hear a lot of noise coming from other rooms, but it didn't bother us much and we slept very well!

The building is lovely and the rooms beautifully decorated. Everything was comfy enough and the check in went super smoothly. Jeff was very nice and welcoming and gave us tips and recommendations around Bridgeport :)

Preserving the historical layout has it's constraints - the bathroom and shower in our room was very small.

The hotel has a lot of charm as it has been physically relocated from a ghost town near by many years ago. The owners did a great job preserving a lot of the original decoration while making it comfortable.

I loved the history and charm of the building. It was nicely renovated while preserving its history and charm. The owner Jeff is very nice and friendly, and we enjoyed talking to him and hearing his stories about the building and the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is convenient and there are few places to eat downstairs.

Can’t think of a single thing.

The building is absolutely charming, from the parlor to the guest rooms. The truth is I love the idea of staying at quirky old hotels but often the reality is that comfort and cleanliness come up short. But NOT at the Bodie Hotel! The place is full of character but is also very clean. The owners have done an incredible job modernizing the important things: fresh crisp towels and linen, very comfortable new mattresses, and beautiful lighting. The owner was very hospitable and friendly. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended to several people.

It's certainly an older building, but that was part of the charm. If you're looking for a bit of an experience and not another carbon copy hotel this is the one for you!

The Bodie hotel is a little gem. Quirky and unique setup, but very clean with all needed amenities, and excellent staff!
