The frogs in the garden are incredibly noisy, at least from sunset to about midnight, so good quality earplugs are a must if you want a good night's sleep. The air-conditioner/fan was a bit inadequate and added to the sleeping problem. The location is not really feasible for walking into the CBD so you always have to drive. However, this is only a few minutes.

Basically this is a private house in a suburban street with two bedrooms for guests so makes a nice alternative to a standard motel. The large kitchen, living space and garden are shared but this is not really a problem. Our room itself was a bit on the small size, although a balcony overlooking the garden compensated somewhat. Parking is on the road in front of the house but this is not really an issue.

It was a little hot in the room, but the fans helped and it was nice outside on the balcony.

Great location close to town and the beach (and airport). The host was super friendly and helpful and the House and room was amazing- clean, great decor and had everything you need (from beach gear to amenities in the bathroom). We loved the common area outside and our balcony and was nice to have a kitchen too!

This house is gorgeous! The effort of little touches made by Dan are amazing. We really loved this stay. It can get a touch warm in the rooms with just the fans but Dan was very happy to accommodate giving us an extra fan. Would really recommend

My stay in the Zen room at The Bamboo House in Kailua-Kona was absolutely delightful! The property is a serene oasis, providing the perfect escape while still being close to all the action. The Zen room (1 bedroom/1 bathroom) was pristine, beautifully decorated, and offered a true sense of tranquility. The shared amenities were top-notch, with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and a private lanai that was perfect for relaxing. The location was fantastic, with easy access to Kailua-Kona's beaches, shops, and restaurants. I highly recommend the Zen room at The Bamboo House for anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat in Hawaii. The attention to detail and comfort made my stay truly memorable!

The peacefulness of this accommodation is astounding. You feel like you've arrived at a spa. The rooms are large, bedsheets and towels made of premium quality, and quiet ambiance. There are two rooms on the top floor, so you are sharing the 'home' with another guest, but the wall are sp thick and you cannot hear into the other room. If you don't want to, you can easily keep to yourself and not run into the other guests. The owner lives on the first floor. My favourite part was the details - artwork from India, antique chairs from Indonesia, sunscreen and aloe vera in the bathroom for unlimited use, super stocked kitchen, etc. Highly recommend, wish we would have spend more than 2 nights here!

Would be nice to have a vent in the bathroom so it doesn’t get too stuffy but not a deal breaker. There’s a window that we just leave open all the time.

Wonderful stay! Everything was pretty much provided to make our stay comfortable. There’s even a washer/dryer to do laundry. Love that it’s pretty quiet and clean as well. Shared common areas but we didn’t see any couples while we were there. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a bit hot without AC. The night time noise from done bird/ cricket bugs -no idea, but kept me awake. The earplugs helped tho.

The whole house is comfortable. Sense of details I’m every room. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking and super clean. Bathroom is very clean and have all the little things one needs when travelling. Will go back for sure.

This was our first experience not having a whole house to ourselves or our own personal entry. Not sure we loved that but we only met up with the other couple staying there once on our 2 night stay so it wasn't bad.

The location was perfect for us and our activities. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. It had a great atmosphere. The face masks added a nice touch to the stay. There was snorkel gear and beach chairs to use. Loved the hammock.

The fan in our room was a blessing to help keep the room cool, but it can make a bit of noise. Luckily, included in the room's thoughtful touches was a jar of ear plugs perfect for dampening any unwanted sounds!

We were met at the house by the host Dan, who showed us through the shared areas of the house and up to our suite. We stayed in a room called the Zen suite, which was spacious and beautifully decorated. Attached ensuite bathroom with roomy shower as well as a nice private balcony area overlooking the yard. Shared areas included the living room, cozy outdoor area, and well-equipped kitchen with filtered water, tea, and coffee provided.

No air conditioning, we did not realize in a hot location that air con would not be available. It was exceptionally uncomfortable not being able to cool down after being in the sun most of the day. We did not think to check for this but wished it was listed that there is no A/C.

Beautiful room & bathroom, clean, spacious, great kitchen and back porch. Good location and friendly staff.

No A/C. We opened the windows at night and the birds were quite chirpy. Owners left ear plugs in the bathroom for your comfort. The property is also shared with other guests and the owner.
