Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenBoth the a/c and ceiling fan was very noisy. It was not an option to have them turned of during warm nights. The cleaning was a bit subpar as there was a lot of dust under the beds.
The location was very nice. Great interior design in both lobby and rooms. Comfortable beds and cozy room. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice lounge area on ground floor.

IrelandAppearance from the street is not good but you are pleasantly surprised when you walk in the door. Room was just a little too tight on space.
Very nice staff. Great welcome when we arrived. Really liked interior decor. Fresh coffee every morning!

United StatesGreat location close to numerous subway stations, restaurants etc. We stayed in a room for 5 people - it's very small but they designed it so well & used every bit of space to advantage. I'd recommend

United StatesDidn’t like hauling our luggage up two flights of stairs to our room. Would have been nice to have a bell hop do this since there was no elevator. The location was central though street noise was loud late into the night.
The room size and style. We had three beds which was great for our family. The decor throughout the common areas was thoughtful and had a great bohemian vibe.

United KingdomThe room was a bit tight for 5 people with no storage for our suitcases and we had to file into the room to reach our beds.
The hotel was very nice and welcoming. We liked the access to hot drinks in the morning. The location was very practical. Great pressure in the shower.

United StatesIf I am going to spend $400 on the hotel room, I should not be either freezing or sweating. The room had no thermostat.

United KingdomAlthough useful to get around, the area itself at night didn't always feel safe, I would not have wanted to be exploring alone. The bathroom was a slightly odd wet room design so everything got wet, very quickly, even the toilet paper.
The location was great to get to lots of areas, either walking or subway. We used it as a base so weren't in the room much and it was perfect for that, as we had 5 people in one room. Beds were also comfy. The hotel has a nice vibe and staff were very nice.

SpainIt is an old building and it has no elevator, the staff helps getting the suitcases up and down the rooms but it would be better to have an elevator. During our stay two times the fire alarm was activated by mistake, one of the times in the middle of the night the other time early morning. Although we were staying in a family room everything is very small to move around with the suitcases (typical NYC).
How clean it was, how the staff was so kind and helpful. The beds were really comfortable.

We stayed for 7 nights five guys group. The room was crispy clean and neat. Would like it bigger and having more space for the luggage but the location the staff and the comfort to be close to the metro made our experience perfect.

SpainThe room was a dark and small for the price but this is quite common in NY. The fridge makes a lot of noise at night and we had a disturbing fire alarm at 3am one of the nights. We were unsure of what to do and then the staff said that it was a false alarm through the speaker phone. They weren't very clear and this was confusing and a bit scary.
Great location in Soho and close to the great restaurants in the lower East Side. Staff was helpful.

United StatesThe rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, wafting through the vents in the bathroom. We kept the door to the bathroom closed to keep the smoke smell out, which worked, but it was kinda gross and stinky when the smoke was waffing - Cigarette smoke.
The bed were comfortable and the size was fair, especially for New York. Cute and fun aesthetic. Also the location and access to the Subway and SOHO was awesome. Would probably stay here again, if needing to be south of mid-down.
