Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSofa and chairs in the living area of the room were not very nice, or in great condition.
Bed was extremely comfortable (according to my wife; just okay for me--a little too soft).

United KingdomNo real convenience store within a short walking distance, except a small Tiger Mart at a gas station or a very expensive Whole Foods market which doesn't sell many branded products.
Friendly staff, outstanding views and a clean room. We read some negative reviews about location and accessibility but we actually found the location to be a benefit - nice and quiet out of Manhattan yet still easily accessible by ferry (up to 9.30PM) or bus (runs late into the night and takes less than 10 minutes). We will stay here again.

United KingdomAs per some other reviews, the room could do with a bit of modernisation but at least everything was in good working order.
This was a great location for a 5 night sightseeing stay making use of the excellent ferry connections. 602 was a great sized room for 3 people with amazing views of NYC. The main bed was comfortable and massive!!

EstoniaThe only thing that was disappointing is that I was charged around 500$ as a deposit. In the description it said that the deposit is only 100$, but in reality they charged me 30-35% of the total cost. I wasn’t aware of this. I planned my expenses for this trip and this extra charge was a bit of a inconvenience for me. Gladly we got it back in just 2 days, but I could have spent it in NYC 😂. But in general the whole experience was positive.
We had a room with a view to Manhattan. The room was super comfortable, clean and cozy. There was a coffee maker, which is a big plus for us. There is a bus stop near the hotel and you can reach NYC in just 15-20 mins (only 1 bus stop). The buses run every 10 mins. Everything was great, we loved our stay.

IndiaThe room could have been slightly more luxurious in feel; but honestly I really don't have any complaints at all. It was a wonderful stay.
What can be better or ideal than a NewYork waterway station just in front of the hotel on the shoreline of the Hudson to take you directly to Manhattan ? This location offers sublime and breathtaking opportunities of walk on the Weehawken-Hoboken shoreline with detailed views of Manhattan and notable structures such as Empire State and Tower one, to name a few. The room was large, well bedded, enough and generous coffee and water supplies & refills, a homely feel to it. Shower and washroom was very comfortable and functional. The food/beverage buying facility at lobby was a good touch for the sightseeing guest who can pick up a sandwich at ease. The italian restaurant Benici's lived upto its tagline : 'best pizza this side of the hudson' One time we ordered the pizza margarita and it delighted. Rest of menu was also small and curated, the way I like it.

AustraliaPaid internet. $9.95 per day. Check in area gets congested.
Why pay Manhattan prices when this hotel is available. The ferry is on your doorstep. It runs every 20 minutes and only takes 8 minutes to Manhattan. I won't stay anywhere else.

CanadaNeeds a 'hotel shop' with sundry convenience items. Pool is too small and shallow (5 ft) to swim in. The restaurant staff were very inattentive on the one night I ordered 'take out'. I think they were understaffed. I had to quibble about the tab as the front desk menus, and inside the restaurant menus, had pricing differences.
Superb location to visit the city. Room was very comfortable. Bed exceptional. Housekeeping staff are excellent! Transportation options for Manhattan are numerous if you are good with maps and apps. We used bus, ferry, and light rail options in one week.

GreeceMarred by substandard breakfast service offered by adjacent restaurant (indifferent staff, permanent "malfunction" of room-billing system, frequent mistakes in orders, too-loud music). A 10-minute waterfront walk to Hoboken offers a wide range of much better breakfast and dining options. Also, wi-fi is not free unless you register in the hotel's platform. Not cool.
Clean and very comfortable room (1042) with breathtaking view of the Manhattan midtown skyline. Helpful and friendly staff, in general. Very convenient location. Very good value for money.

United StatesComplicated, confusing instructions for obtaining free room wifi. Needed earlier pool opening hours and room key access to pool. Altho parking costs were comparable to other properties, they are sheer money makers and needlessly higher than they used to be (recently raised from $25 - $35/ night w/out explanation).
Very scenic. Convenient, great location. Good parking with flexible in-out access, including for loading and unloading luggage. Nice heated pool and gym. Quality Italian restaurant. Great adjacent ferry stop

GermanyThe room type has a photo of a bathtub, but after I booked I was told none of those room types have a bathtub. Not sure why there's a photo of it, which is confusing. The TV also kept making loud crackling noises. The coffee maker didn't seem to stop dripping water so we had to quickly unplug it so it didn't overflow.
Loooooved the view! The room was very spacious and sooo comfortable. Such a great value for those two things. Plus, you have multiple options of getting around (bus stop that's a few minutes walk from the hotel, ferry station that's an even shorter walk from the hotel, and quick cab options--although one refused to take us into Manhattan!)

United StatesIt would have been helpful to have a small microwave in the room - We are in the downstairs restaurant and had leftovers that we wanted to finish later. Other than that, our accommodations were fine.
