    - the pool is NOT heated sadly. - king room is rather small.

+ the double room is big and spacious. + great free WiFi. + the breakfast is great in our opinion. + 6 min from downtown by car. + No homeless and calm area. + price is great.

Very good hotel to stay at. I've been staying at the hotel for the past 20 or so years and has never had a bad experience. It's walking distance to Old Town.

The door to the breakfast room was hard to open for many people, we got up to help others every day that we were there.

Excellent location and very helpful staff. Breakfast was good too and very well maintained. Overall a really well fun motel.

Sadly the breakfast was a little later than the time we had to be out to get to MCRD. I'm sure it was good food.

Great stay. Clean rooms and facilities. Front desk so helpful and nice. Loved that it is very pet friendly. Glad it was close to MCRD. The pool was great as well We didn't get to grill but they have a grill in the pool area.

Nothing we didn’t really dislike but the breakfast could use some more variety.

It was in a great location, comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff (we loved Matty!), and just a nice place overall!

We stayed only one night in San Diego and the Old Town Inn was the perfect place for us! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, we arrived before check in time due to our flight arrival, and they had a room ready for us. The rooms were clean and contrary to other reviews about the beds being too firm, we found them to be perfect. A great continental breakfast and although we didn't use the pool, it is beautiful as well as the landscaping on the entire property. It is a short and safe walk to Old Town, which is a historical and cultural gem. Thank you!

The breakfast pictures on the website showed hot foods but there weren't any while we were there. Just waffles. That could have been better for the price we paid.

I liked that they had a kitchenette in the room. We were able to make our own meals while staying there.

Our beds seemed a bit hard this time. But it was just different than sleeping on your own mattress. I would still come back.

I’ve stayed here several times when coming to see family. I love this quaint little Inn. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, the rooms are always clean and comfortable. There are movies available to rent for the dvd players in the rooms. Refrigerators and microwave and coffee pots are always clean. Pillows are comfortable.

I didn't like the breakfast, there was no hot option, and food is not replenished on time. More variations would be better.

The best thing about this hotel is location, just across the train station and old town. We were using public transportation during our stay. Room is nice, beds are comfy, but the room has a smells of dampness a little bit. Staff is very nice. Pool also, clean, small and good for a little break. I liked the free coffee, water and tea in a lobby. Also, there is a possibility to rent a movie and to buy a popcorn :)

Not any major points, location of the inn was great for the Old Town Transit centre, but felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. Not much around the actual accommodation.

Breakfast was amazing, had everything we could want. Staff were very friendly, and helped with every question we had. Location was perfect for us, 5-minute walk to the Old Town Transit Centre. We managed to get around the city so easily. Would highly recommended the free transit bus from the airport to the transit centre - it’s a fantastic incentive.

Everything was well thought out. The staff were super friendly n helpful. The grounds were beautiful. The room was clean n very functional. The lights n switches were where they supposed to be. Shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. For a continental breakfast there were a lot of choices. Fresh coffee n ice water in the reception area were not I expected from a small hotel. The location was perfect for public transportation n Amtrak service. Thank you for all the effort to make your guests feel special.

It is a walk to get any snacks (other than vending machine) and anything in Old Town closes early... 7-9pm. So if you want room snacks, drinks by the pool bring your own or make a trip into downtown and shop at the many stores.

It was as advertised... friendly, clean, great little pool area, and easy walking distance to Old Town State Park and the MTS transportation center. You are within a 10-15 min to numerous restaurants, bars, and shops. The MTS system (Trolley, Amtrak Coaster, Busses) has you 5-7 stops from SDSU, Little Italy, or Gas Lamp Quarter... for $5 roundtrip. Or head up the coast to Solana Beach, Oceanside.

The carpet smells really bad, making the room keep a funky smell all throughout our stay. I personally did not appreciate being rushed to checkout by housekeeping. We were being asked to leave before checkout which was 11AM and housekeeping was already cleaning around by 10AM.

We lived how easy it was to get in and out of the location to get around while visiting San Diego. The area around the Inn wasn't the best appealing place yet we never felt unsafe. Their communal breakfast lounge was really good, with so many different options to choose from, breakfast was a good. They had cable TV making it fun to stay in at night and making it a movie night.

The room was clean but the smell of humidity in the room was a bit of a turnoff.

I like the location as it is close to the train, trolley and bus stations.. The amenities are great. Good breakfast and the lemon water available for all is great. Nice selection of movies.

The only slight downside was that you had to drive to nearby restaurants / attractions, as there isn't anywhere close enough to walk. And the breakfast room could get busy at peak times in the morning. But still a great little place to stay - a real find!

We had a terrific stay at the Old Town Inn. Staff were so lovely, and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds and good amenities. The kids loved the pool. Self-serve breakfast is included in the price, and the homemade waffles are amazing!
