Great place to stay for a fishing trip. The rooms are clean and comfy. The location is on the road to Rock Creek (of course). The store/Fly shop has everything you need for your stay. Drinks, snacks and of course flys, fly tackle, fly tying kits. clothing...etc. Truely, if you wanted to go fly fishing and had nothing to start with, they could completely set you up for a fun day. People are super friendly and knowledgeable, happy to point you in the right direction. Adding on to the great fishing at Rock Creek, you are also only 5 miles from Clarks Fork River, and just a few more from The Blackfoot River. I spent 3 days (2 overnights) At the Motel and was able to fish three of Montana's better waters. Already working on a "next time" trip. Hint: there are only 6 rooms in the motel section so I would suggest that you plan early during the summer vacation season. Looking forward to my next stay at "Rock Creek Mercantile and Motel. To the owners/operators... thanks for such an enjoyable stay and order more Fat Tire.

My dad used the bed, while I used the futon. I wish more linens had been provided for the futon. All I had was a top sheet to put on top of it, so I didn't have a top sheet for myself and just slept under the blanket provided.

It was a shame to arrive at night, but what a beautiful location to wake up in! We were blown away. Conveniently located right outside Missoula, but you're in beautiful rural Montana at this place. It was fantastic. The room was great. Really good shower!

Units are a bit tired on the exterior...steps and decking were uneven, but the lovely interior made up for that.

Liked the very large room ..... this was a great stop in a most unlikely location....very clean, large fridge...extremely comfortable. We arrived late and manager had left key to our unit taped on door, so we didn't see staff till the next morning....they were very friendly and welcoming.

Some of the decking in front of the room was a bit sketchy. There was a light rain during our stay and the steps were very slick. My husband slipped and took a mild fall, no injuries, no worries.

Our needs for a motel are fairly simple. We don't require anything fancy and prefer surroundings that are wide open space. This is a pretty cool place! It is a few duplex style buildings with two rooms a piece. It is in a very quiet area, with apparently some of the best fishing around. Most of the other guests were there to fish the nearby streams. The room was comfortable and clean. There were a few "lived in" aspects, but nothing to worry about. They are pet friendly and extremely laid back. The Mercantile next door to the rooms is a pretty neat place, also. It is a simple, rural type stay. If you require a lot of stores and places to go, this is not the place for you. If you like the quiet solitude of nature, this is a great place.

There were two big grasshopper-like bugs in the bathroom, but considering you're in the middle of nature, that's of course something that can happen. My wife is terrified of bugs though, so just a heads-up to perhaps do a check when you enter the room.

We spent a night here during our road trip through Western USA. We arrived light, but received clear instructions on where to find the key to the cabin. Cabin was clean and spacious. The nature around the domain is great as well. In the morning we crossed paths with a very well-behaved dog in the yard. Perfect place for passing through.

The only thing I didn't care for was the heavy use of floral scented spray (that I found under the sink after searching for the dreaded Glade plug-ins ) which was totally overwhelming. Once I had aired out the room it was somewhat better.

Rustic accommodation in a stunning setting. It is not an expensive place so don't expect high end finishings. That said it had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable and budget priced.
