Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe bunk beds!!! The beds are made for children. It is not safe for grown adults to sleep on the top bunk - there is a warning stating that no more than 2 CHILDREN should be on the beds!!! TERRIBLE IDEA!!! I understand you can stick 2 more people per room but really should give option to have bottom bunk when booking. Sharing 1 bathroom for 6 people was tough but doable. HOWEVER, some common sense, like clean the fan & put up real shower curtains & water stopper - triangle pieces that go in the corner to stop the water from coming out, cheap at homedepot/lowes, etc. would go a long way!!! Maybe somewhere people could hang up wet clothes other than the railing. No parking - but that was manageable.
Spent a few days in a semi-private room. That was exceptional!!! Simple, just 2 beds & adjoining room/bathroom was well worth the small amount of money I paid. The place itself was amazing. Close to beach, downtown. Lots of activities, group kitchen. Very nice place, highly recommend the place & the staff. AC/fans in room were nice. THE PRICE!!!! Great bargain & the staff was really wonderful. Laundry service was very convenient & cheap.

United StatesMy upper bunk on first night didn’t have a guard rail to prevent rolling off in your sleep. They were aware of the problem but said it “takes forever” to get replacements so I had to put the mattress on the floor. Other two nights in lower bunk ok.
Free coffee! Nice to offer oranges. This was a typical hostel, helpful staff, close to the beach. Good value vs typical Waikiki hotel prices

United StatesBoth the mattress was compressed and base on my bunk was swayed at one end. To counteract the impact on my spine I slept with my head at foot of the bed after the first night. This did not occur in my previous stays in 2022 and 2023, might be time for bed rotation and mattress replacement.
The kitchen equipment has been upgraded, and the area is being remodeled. The new configuration is awesome and has greatly increased the usability of the cooking space. It is visually appealing as well. I look forward to seeing it's completion on my next visit!

Great location. First night in the dorm, wasn’t great. Long termers clearly didn’t care about anyone else in the room as they were loud and putting lights on well after midnight. Also couples sleeping together, caused some unwanted noises. The staff offered a private for my last night before flying out though- very kind of them so I could enjoy a good nights rest. Big reason why I’ve rated them so high cause the first night I was pretty unhappy

United KingdomIt was pretty expensive for a bed in a mixed dorm but I guess that’s just Hawaii prices. The bathroom was pretty outdated and the shower curtain rail would fall off if you didn’t pull the curtain over gently. The room was cold at night as we visited in their winter and the duvet is just a bed sheet so zero warmth. The kitchen is sort of half finished looking so we didn’t use it too much. Also one bathroom per dorm room and semi private didn’t seem enough
The location to the beach is great, also close to lots of restaurants etc. the staff were friendly upon check in. The room was spacious though so no issues there. Also cheap laundry ($6)
