Unfortunately my room didn’t have AC, which I feel like would have made the room a little cooler than just having 2 large fans going. I also had a member of staff in my room for the last night, who continually left the hostel room door open therefore allowing anyone to access the room which did make me feel uncomfortable with my belongings.

The hostel was in such a great location, only around 100 metres to the beach. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm and will say that the beds were quite comfy, very spacious & I felt super clean in the room. The overall vibes of the people who were staying there & the facilities that were offered were some of the best that I’ve seen from where I’ve stayed around the world. For what you are paying I feel like you are 100% getting it & maybe a little more.

The app needed in place of a keycard was an unnecessary complication and I don't see how it improves on normal keycards at all. The beds were also a little bit uncomfortable. And as a solo female traveler i was put alone in a mixed dorm with all men, next to another one of all men where apparently people needed to cross ours to get to their door, which was a little bit uncomfortable. I know this can't always be helped, sometimes it's just the people checking in on that day, but it's nice to try and avoid that when possible.

Location is amazing, it's close to the beach and the buses, and overall very convenient and good value for money.

The quiet zone after 10pm is a bit too early for grown adults as they immediately kick you out forcefully as it's a hostel. Many of the rooms do not have ac and if it does its not that cool. The ones with no ac have fans but it only goes to certain directions so it's inconvenient for most people and it's loud. The laundry was supposed to be taken 8 hours as they said and it took more than 14 hours and in the end the guy who was in charge that night was unprofessional. He was a 19 year old who had no direction on how to treat guests. As we were kicked out for quiet time he and some of the workers and other guests they seem to know were just hanging out in the common area while guests were forcefully kicked out. Don't get me wrong the hostel is fine, but I was a bit stressed and alot of those things above was a pain. There seems to be underage drinking with some of the staff as they are not of age and have somewhat of an attitude when they work.

The room was clean and the staff and guests were kind. It was an experience that was worth the other negative things about the place. The common area and luggage storage was nice and the reception was almost 24 hours which is nice because alot of places aren't like that. The location was perfect because it was infront of the beach and has many good local restaurants nearby. Free towels for the guests was good too. The staff were friendly besides maybe 1 or two but that's not important. I still had fun nevertheless

There a time to stay in the common area, and even if it's just to eat (not cook, eat) you can't use it. You either need to eat in your bed (in the dark) or outside the hostel, which bad, specially for people traveling alone.

The beds could be more advanced, like having curtains or semi-secluded capsules. The bunks shake a bit. Consider also the 2 other hostels in the street if you are looking for a specific vibe.

I recommend the organized tours, the hostel will arrange a large discount for you. You can cook easily in the shared kitchen area (Honolulu is quite expensive for eating out), but beware that it closes at 10pm and then there is no bar inside or a place to socialize.

It would have been nice to have a later curfew than 10PM. And the lack of AC was acceptable as long as there were fans provided but they were loud and ear plugs should be available.

The location in proximity to the beach, downtown, transit and walkability was excellent.

The bunk beds!!! The beds are made for children. It is not safe for grown adults to sleep on the top bunk - there is a warning stating that no more than 2 CHILDREN should be on the beds!!! TERRIBLE IDEA!!! I understand you can stick 2 more people per room but really should give option to have bottom bunk when booking. Sharing 1 bathroom for 6 people was tough but doable. HOWEVER, some common sense, like clean the fan & put up real shower curtains & water stopper - triangle pieces that go in the corner to stop the water from coming out, cheap at homedepot/lowes, etc. would go a long way!!! Maybe somewhere people could hang up wet clothes other than the railing. No parking - but that was manageable.

Spent a few days in a semi-private room. That was exceptional!!! Simple, just 2 beds & adjoining room/bathroom was well worth the small amount of money I paid. The place itself was amazing. Close to beach, downtown. Lots of activities, group kitchen. Very nice place, highly recommend the place & the staff. AC/fans in room were nice. THE PRICE!!!! Great bargain & the staff was really wonderful. Laundry service was very convenient & cheap.

There's a thief working in the hostel. I'm really not trying to get her in trouble because she has no where else to go.

My upper bunk on first night didn’t have a guard rail to prevent rolling off in your sleep. They were aware of the problem but said it “takes forever” to get replacements so I had to put the mattress on the floor. Other two nights in lower bunk ok.

Free coffee! Nice to offer oranges. This was a typical hostel, helpful staff, close to the beach. Good value vs typical Waikiki hotel prices
