Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe hotel is a bit pricey, which seems to be the norm in the area. Also, if you read the fine print of your reservation, it mentions that they start charging your credit card (as a deposit) ahead of your stay prior to your arrival. I missed this and saw several charges which initially alarmed me, but after communicating with the hotel was able to confirm that all charges went towards the total reservation cost and all we had to pay on arrival was the final remaining balance. Parking is also pricey (over $40-45/day, valet only), due to the limited space.
Almost unbeatable location - half a block from Jackson square and St. Louis Cathedral - and a block and a half from Cafe du Monde! The hotel itself is a collage of beautiful old buildings, one of which was originally the very first school in all of Louisiana. Of all the hotels around the French Quarter, this one exudes the most 'New Orleans' character (in my opinion) with a beautiful private courtyard and several nooks that add to the charm. To top it off, all of the staff were exceptionally attentive and accommodating. The combination of all of these things made for a memorable trip and will most likely result in a return trip in the future.

United StatesConvenient to the French Quarter. Our room was mostly quiet, but then again it didn’t have any windows (we were okay with that). The staff was very nice.

United StatesNo longer serving breakfast, but that is hardly a problem in New Orleans.
This hotel has really upped its game. It used to be historic but shabby; now the rooms are clean, comfortable, upgraded bathrooms, while retaining the authentic NOLA ambience.

AustraliaNothing - we liked it all
We liked that the hotel has history and is location was excellant - walking distant to all the major attractions in the French Quarters. Having a little oasis courtyard and pool was refreashing after a long day. The staff were friendly and helpfull.

United StatesOnly one ice machine. Some sand on the garage floors made maneuvering motorcycles a little tougher. St. Ann street is in dire need of paving but I know that is the city's responsiblity.
The rooms had been refurbished since my last visit and were a nice upgrade. This was the first time I have visited on motorcycles and the valet parking garage was able to accommodate us nicely. The staff was great especially the afternoon shift parking valet and the day shift reservation and check out clerk. Check out was quick and easy and great personalities on the hosts. Enjoyed talking with them.

United KingdomI know there are lots of bars & restaurants so close, but would have like a small bar/coffee where you could just sit there & chill
Beautiful boutique hotel, set in the middle of the French Quarter. You can literally come out of the hotel & you can walk to all the bars, restaurants, shops, museums, waterfront. Staff are so polite every time you leave the hotel to returning. 5 stars from me !

United StatesThe only thing we struggled with was the air condition. It was not possible to adjust the temperature, at least we did not manage, so the option was to adjust the fan instead.
Location was excellent and close to everything we wanted to see. Walking distance to Cafe du Monde for breakfast and a range of excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner. The rooms were spacious and clean. Safe parking for the car.

Location and staff. Room and facilities were super cozy. Being a colonial building it was very well maintained, charming and clean. People need to be aware that this type of architecture of the 1800’s has small doors, elevators, etc. which may be a challenge and have nothing to do with the hotel itself. We loved our stay.

United StatesWe were put in a room across from the elevator. Due to the hardwood floors and the thin doors, it was rather noisy which made it difficult to sleep. Also, the shower door in room 104 needs to be fixed. It continually slides open.
We loved the location near Jackson Square! We were in close proximity to Bourbon Street and within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The hotel courtyards were beautiful and the pool was cool and relaxing during the hot afternoons. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
