If traveling alone, I'd stay here again. Proximity to transport, Chinatown & Union Square great!

Internet pictures of room deceptive - it was much smaller than anticipated; barely room for my 1 large suitcase - I doubt a couple could manage 2 large suitcases in this Queen Room; carpet could have been nicer; no suitcase rack.

Location; quiet; staff;fridge in room; pillows were better than most hotels - they might have contained feather/down; they have done a very decent job refurbishing this older hotel, especially the lobby; bed frame was practical - it had spaces on both sides for articles, but there were no night tables; you are able to leave luggage after checking out for up to 48 hours - unprecedented!

They didn't provide breakfast or coffee. No complimentary water at least.

Staff was helpful; and the location of the hotel was really good. Walking distance to lots of the places we wanted to go to,

the building is older, so the bathroom occasionally had that whiff of old plumbing

even though there was a protest going on outside, the staff were very communicative and offered ear plugs. loved the old elevator and the neighborhood had lots of food and bar options on the block. rooms were very spacious and comfortable.

Somewhere to buy a coffee or a beer in the hotel. It's always nice to wind down in the hotel after a nice day out.

Staff were very friendly and helpful in all cases. Great tip to get a Clipper card to get around. The location was very central and close to all amenities I found.

The room was very dark. The shower was inconvenient because the glass doesn't cover it fully, so the water always floods a little bit the bathroom.

The public spaces on 2nd floor were incredible, you can comfortable work and study there. The location is good and the parking garage is across the street.

The room was very very small, we'd booked a King room so expected a little bit more space, however the bed filled 90% of the room so it left little space for our luggage. There was also only 1 robe/ no shower gel in the shower.

The hotel was very stylish and well finished. The staff at the front desk were super helpful and friendly and had some great recommendations for the area and San Fran in general.

Nothing really. One improvement could be to offer breakfast on the second floor which has a very nice room to rest, read or work.

Located in an old renovated building, the hotel is nicely decorated and provides a genuine and personalized experience of urban American life. The personnel is great and super welcoming. Location near Union Square is ideal as a base camp to explore the city. Really recommend this hotel also considering price vs quality.

Not much tea or coffee offered either in rooms or common areas. They knocked on our door at 9am even though we had the do not disturb sign on our door to see if we were gone so they could clean the room.

Very botique hotel in a prime location. The bathroom looked newly remodeled and room spacious with a wall AC which was so useful this weekend!

Windows were thin but this seems to be typical of these buildings. Shower pressure a tad weak. Free coffee area needs extra milk.

Loved the decor! Well thought out and coffee machine in the room. Great lighting and very comfy bed. Lots of towels. Staff weee great, Rachel on the front desk helped us change rooms when our air con was down (it was the hottest day of the year). She was lovely and a great help! Location is great with places to eat nearby. Free coffee in the morning great.

There are a few areas for improvement, though. The bath towels could be larger, and the bathroom sinks aren’t very functional – they're small, and the shelf above makes it awkward and even a bit risky as you could hit your head. It would be amazing if the TV had a more flexible mount that allowed it to turn towards the living area. I missed having Marvis toothpaste among the amenities. It would also be fantastic if the restaurant were open, and if they offered a continental breakfast, even in a shorter version. Despite these points, I would still highly recommend staying here!

Great overall experience at the Palihotel San Francisco. The location is fantastic, just steps away from Union Square and major shops, with easy access to public transportation. There's also a more affordable parking option right in front of the hotel. The decor is beautiful, and they’ve done a wonderful job with the restoration. The antique Otis elevator, one of the first in San Francisco, is still in operation, adding to the charm. I just love the french Diptyque amenities — the fig scent is to die for!

There's only one lift so sometimes you have to wait if staying on a higher floor. They didn't provide drinking water - every other hotel we stayed in California did. The queen room as expected is quite small and there isn't much space to put your stuff.

It's a nice hotel, providing all the basic facilities and services. The staff were nice and helpful. The overall design of the hotel is great.

Parking is limited to valet service only, with no self-parking available. We opted to park at a nearby public lot across from the hotel. However, valet parking is a common practice in San Francisco.

The room was clean and very comfy. The location is great although initially hard to find. I wished that hotel had better signage.

There was a whole beautiful bar and restaurant area that wasn't open which seemed a shame. The room was small and there weren't many toiletries (we had to call down for hand soap). The area wasn't the best, but not awful. We were visiting as tourists and the area felt more commercial.

The hotel staff were friendly and useful and the room was clean. The decor is nicely done and the bed was really comfortable. Good value for money for San Francisco - note that parking is expensive!

The room's lights had (maybe faulty) motion sensors that would turn on while we were sleeping. I asked at the reception if it could be disabled but I was told there was no way to disble the sensor.
