Gave us a room that was not ready. Gave us 406, had to change to 410. Bed was not that comfortable.

Breakfast was good. Location was great for us.

Bathroom small and shower slightly outdated but adequate anf functional for our overnight stay.

Merrill Farm Inn was quaint, traditional and beautifully laid out. Room inside the main building was small but cosy, clean and comfortable. Included breakfast was great. Location was perfect and scenery amazing.

We had to make a toll-free call to our car rental company due to a warning message on the car system and the phone in the room didn’t work. So, we asked the receptionist (older chap) who told us the phones are for internal calls only. Our UK mobiles only had data plan and couldn’t make 0800 calls. The receptionist allowed us to use the phone behind reception. Once we got through to Avis, the receptionist started telling us to hurry up and stop tying up the phone and saying that’s the hotel line. He was very rude and could see we were trying to hurry but it’s not easy talking to a call centre. An incoming call came through and he put our call on hold so he could take his call but then dropped our call. Which meant we had to call again. Lucky for us, his colleague suggested he let us use the cordless phone that was also at the reception desk. Our issue with him was his rudeness! Bathroom was tiny! No space to put our toiletries. There was a small under-sink cupboard but there was a dirty looking plunger stored and there was no way I’d put anything in that cupboard. Not enough storage in the room. No safe in the room. Decor was extremely dated…think Psycho the movie! Location of the air conditioning unit meant that it blew on our faces when we slept in either bed so we had to sleep with our heads at the foot end of the bed instead. No cereals, fruits nor bread/pastries at breakfast.

Being able to park outside our room. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with it being plated to order.

Shame restaurant was not open for most of our stay (only open at weekends).

Very homely, lovely old building and we loved the complementary cookies and afternoon tea.

The room I was in faced the highway that passed by. There was some noise from traffic (trucks specifically) going by.

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. I was a little surprised that I actually ordered from a menu, having expected to find a continental breakfast.

Room not comfortable, no chair and beds to high to sit on. Could hear fast street traffic. No coffee maker in rooms.

Desk staff and restaurant staff great. Food in restaurant very good for both breakfast and dinner. Nice mid afternoon cookies in lobby.

Small room that was expensive. I know it was seasonal demand that increased price, but this was too much for a small room.

I didn’t like having to order off a menu for breakfast, however the food was pretty good.

Several types of accommodations in a beautiful setting along a river. Fall decorations were festive and staff were friendly.

Bathrooms in serious need of update - they look like from the 70s. Gym is non-functional - in a dungeon area of hotel and the machines didn't work. Washing machine and dryer are very, very old and no soap is available on site. Dining room building has strange musty smell.

Room was nice. Seems like historic property. Friendly staff who were helpful. Convenient and ample parking. Lots of space on site - laundry, gym, reading room, dining room, game room with lots to do, etc.
