Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaParking was expensive based on it being a nearby outdoor car park.
As pictures show right on the beach, free Wiki Wiki (short par 3 nine holes), restaurants were great. Would need a car to get around and that cost an extra US$40 plus tips.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The facilities where amazing and the food was sooo good. We ate at canoe house and it was delicious, the lobster roll in the beach restaurant is the best I’ve ever eaten and the market has an incredible selection of snacks

BelgiumWould have liked to stay longer... Addition of a "middle" restaurant (Main restaurant great for breakfast but "restaurant food"/ lunch/dinner.) A solution (how?) to the necessity to reserve beach chairs vey early
1. Beach/ Lagoon; swimming with turtles 2. Golf courses: expensive but beautiful/ worth the price 3. Friendliness of all staff 4. Beautiful location; like being in Paradise

United StatesIt was beautiful but quite pricey, with extra costs for several activities like snorkling and playing tennis. The food in all the restaurants and by the pool was also very pricey, although very good.
Beautiful resort, beautiful weather and nature, onsite cultural experts, friendly service, quiet and comfortable rooms, an attention to authentic Hawaiian culture, and more.

United StatesMinor things that were corrected without hesitation.
Understated elegance. Appreciated the sandy / rocky beach. Pools and poolside restaurant protected from the trade winds. Appreciated what was included in the package. Staff were fabulous. Shuttle rides and bikes for easy quick ways to get around the property were examples of nice touches.

United StatesLocation is a little further from other towns and sites on the big island. However I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and well decorated. Many nice touches like cold water waiting for us when we arrive home each day, beds turned down, free laundry room use with supplies, welcomed with lei and cold drink at check in, etc.

AustraliaThe room is a bit old. But it still really nice. If you are expecting modern, chic and new kind of the room. Maybe it’s not what you are expected. But overall, we love this hotel.
The facility is great! The sunset from the restaurant canoe house is amazing.

United StatesGenerally, it was a great experience. Below are just a few nits that one can pick: - Parking: there is valet and self parking. I'm generally too impatient to wait for valets if the lot is close so I picked self parking. However, you always have to drive past the valets to ask them to open the gate to drive in. (out is by sensor) If they are busy you have to get their attention. some access sensor with your room key would be easier. - Business around: there is a small strip mall nearby but at the time of our visit most were still vacant after the pandemic. There was one restaurant. This limits the dining options close by quite a bit and you find yourself driving further than you might want to. There is another, larger shopping area about 5 miles away, which also has more restaurants (albeit of lower standard than the ones at the resort.) - Some of the pricing: it's obviously expensive but you also get a great experience with it. It's mostly on the small things where you start wondering such as your $4.95 purified water in the Market or the $30 cheese burger. However, overall, it's absolutely great! We had a great time.
This resort is really wonderful. We had an ocean view room, which was wonderful. The rooms are really well appointed and clean; functional as well given that this is a beach resort. The landscaping of the resort is outstanding. There are different pools and the beach, of course. The "adult" pool also works for lap swimming and is not so busy. There were always enough deck chair to use at the pools and beach and the service is generally very good, with friendly and helpful people. A highlight is really the sunset, which can be watched from the beach, the restaurants and bar, or just from a chair. We had a massage (mine was OK, my wife really liked hers), took a canoe/snorkling trip and I took a SUP class. The water classes were great and easy to book. The gym is great, with indoor and outdoor section. There are two main restaurants. The canoe house is amazing. Truly great Hawaiian and fusion cuisine, really well executed with great service. While it is expensive it is worth the money - maybe save some wine pricing by the glass for quite ordinary choices. The Halani/Ha Bar place is good but - like in all of the area - the prices are elevated to a silly level ($30 for a burger with so so fries). There is also a market that makes sandwiches and such and is great, with long opening hours. Service attention was great. We were asked for our departure plans and shared that we would be leaving after lunch. The hotel offered late checkout on their own Initiative.

United StatesWay too expensive, no shops, complex check-in, and really bad advice from Booking.com. When I tried to reduce the stay on one of the 4 rooms, Booking.com advised to cancel that room and rebook a shorter stay. However, we were in the "no cancellation" zone and I ended up with two rooms! When I cancelled the one made at Booking's suggestion, I was charged a cancellation fee of $2000+ which was only lifted after much back and forth with Booking and the hotel. fd
We have been to this resort more than a dozen times, The renovation, while it looks nice, made some bad choices--slippery shower floors, heavy closet and bathroom doors, NOTHING IN THE MINIBAR! They try to be eco-sensitive with recyclable water bottles but no place to put them to recycle them! Small things--hair dryer didn't work--were annoying in such an expensive and posh place. And where were the evening hula dances. It's Hawaii!!

United Kingdomwe was on our honeymoon and did not feel that the hotel made any effort to make us feel that it was our honeymoon, we had to wake up at 6am and speak to the desk to resolve the issues which they charged me resort fees even if I had paid this via booking.com. The lady that I spoke to made me feel that I was lying and I then spoke to carols the manager who did not believe me and made me show them proof via email. if you do stay here please do check if the bill is correct before checkin out. Carols the manager did try to resolve the issue by offering my 50 dollars that they had taken for my resort fees as a good will gesture I did not find this a good will gesture as he was returning my money anyway. The restaurant within the hotel called browns had a chef who was more interested in drinking with his friends then making good food.
bar staff at the adults swimming pool and bar staff at the hula bar great service. great facilities.
