Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was work being done on the first floor hallway and it felt like staying in a construction zone including the door’s security latch breaking off in 3 pieces in my hand. There were roaches in the room, which is actually the top reason I don’t think I could stay there again when returning to sarasota.
Location & proximity to my daughter’s dorm.

United StatesWe had a king suite which did not have a working TV in the living room (fixed later by housekeeping but couldn't use the next morning), 1 light in the main room was unplugged but no outlet to plug into, the telephone wasn't working (but who uses those anyway), and no bedding or pillows for the pullout couch (housekeeping came through for us again). There was only 3 towels and 2 wash cloths for 3 guests but could have provided more for use. We made due :).
Overall, we enjoyed the 1 night we stayed. The room was clean and bed was comfortable and included full sized Dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner attached to the shower wall.

United Statesbuilding really really needs a total upgrade. furniture in lobby, room refrigerators, smell in lobby, etc - the place really could be nice and a gem in the La Quinta collection; however, stuff is broken or rusted or in bad shape. Pool area was really not kept up nice. All was still more or less functional, but a little investment here could go a long way.

United StatesNot necessarily something I didn't like because it did not bother us but there was something leaking in the wall or under the floor beside one of the beds that made the floor wet.
We loved how close we were to everything!! Eating places, the beach, gas stations, etc. The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean and functioning.

United StatesEverything outdated the moment you walked in the building Elevator buttons cracked, I walked out of my room and walked 20’ and came back to room and my feet were black, so clean was met really clean, bed was comfortable but mirrors in main area were old and look like they had lube all over them, my friends room had all the same issue, the handicap lift for pool was broken, and I’m handicapped, couldn’t be used. The umbrelllas kept blowing away because they weren’t bolted to bottom base, the food was not that great and coffee was horrible, I come once a month to Sarasota and stay at choice hotel at fruitville road and 75, that place was clean and presentable. I’m sorry but I know only $289.00 for 2 rooms in off season but really not a great deal The whole building needs upgraded, door jams warn, the front counter was clean but looked dirty, Fernando was nice but the girl who was on before him was not nice, I’m a English only speaking client and she just left us standing at the counter for a good 45 seconds before she acknowledged our presence and who knows what she was saying because she just kept talking to Fernando and not us. Maybe the district managers should go look at those buildings? Maybe stay there one night and see how dirty it is. You guys better clean up your act or you’ll be the new motel 6.

United StatesIt was dirty. When staying on the first floor the windows open and there’s no lock other than the one on the sliding window. If you are traveling alone that doesn’t feel very safe. The showers were absolutely foul. The couch in the room was so dirty that I went to Walmart and got a sheet because I didn’t even want my dog to touch it. The employees were very unprofessional. When I asked if it was possible for a late checkout the man at the desk without even looking said “if it was up to be I would say no. But I’m not gonna be here tomorrow so you gotta ask her” as he pointed to the woman who I’m assuming is the manager. She also didn’t look and told me that today they were fully booked (which doesn’t even make sense because I wasn’t checking out till the next day). Overall would rather stay in a tent on the beach than this hotel ever again.
The only thing I liked about this property was that you can bring dogs and you stay on the first floor.
