To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

EcuadorThe hotel staff were friendly and very supportive. They accommodated my mother's mobility issues by assigning us a ground-floor room, which was very helpful. The breakfast offered a great variety of options and was fantastic, although it can get busy around 9 to 10 a.m. Arriving early made it easier to enjoy without crowds. The location is excellent, with several restaurants just across the street. We used Uber to get around, and because the hotel was close to different locations we wanted to visit, the rides were inexpensive (such as to Dolphin Mall).

The rooms felt recently refurbished and was clean as a result. Great stay for the price and very comfortable.

United States of AmericaThere was no ac in the hallways as I walked to my room. The drainage system in the shower was terrible and as I took my kids a bath, the tub filled with water. The WiFi signal was nonexistent and terrible on the tv. There was no extra bedding or sheets for the mattress bed and there was someone’s panties left over underneath the couch.
Front desk staff was very nice and courteous. They assisted me with every question or issue I had with no hesitance.

Hotel is located in a convenient location. Food access to restaurants, shopping etc. Breakfast offered was good for the value. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms was spacious.
