Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI did not like no hand soap in room. Left by the sink is body wash. Another thing is did not like is, check out is at 11 am. At about 10:10 am one of the male housekeepers knocked on my door and said "Are you checking out today, how much longer ?" He was rushing me out of the room. If I stayed til after 11 yes, by all means chase me out but not before 11 am. Housekeeping was in a rush to make the room. This is totally unacceptable to ask me with 50 more minutes to go. I never experienced this ever in my life at any property worldwide.

United StatesIt was just an over night stay. It was fine. My wife has to eat breakfast because she uses insulin .the breakfast was a very light continental which was fine for our situation it was just the 100 people crammed in an area meant for a dozen at most that displeased me.
Breakfast was better than nothing but we were getting ready to go on a 6 day cruise. Breakfast area was a mad house too many people for a tiny area.

United StatesFar too many air conditioning units are uncomfortably loud and should be replaced or fixed. I asked for a room with an unit that wasn't making so much noise and instead of finding one for me, I had to go around the complex looking for one myself. After the first go and come back, I asked for a list of available rooms which they gave me. The 5th room I went to had a quiet normal volume air conditioning unit.
Clean rooms, decent continental breakfast. Shower head was good height. Elevator worked.

United StatesSo, the TV stations would stop at will in the middle of a program, so we tried another station and it would do the same thing. We would have liked to be able to sit outside n read, but the only place to do that was the pool area that was still closed. It was a nice day, and we would have enjoyed the weather. One worker said we could drag out chairs out onto the walkway to sit outside. Our door to our room was warped and difficult to open and close. We thought we had closed it when we went next door to lunch, and found it open when we came back. It had stuck and we didn't get it closed all the way. Just needs some work. When we arrived at the airport, we called for the shuttle and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We had my 86 year old mother with us, and she couldn't stand for that long, so had to call an uber. When we checked in and inquired about the shuttle for the next morning to the airport, we were told the time we needed was full. We talked awhile longer and mentioned the main reason for booking this hotel was for the shuttle. After some cajoling, they were able to get an extra van, so we all could fit and make our flights. We were sad to not enjoy the breakfast provided, but our flight was at 8 am, and we had to leave on the 6 AM shuttle.
The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. They had the room cooled for us before we arrived, so it was very nice. It was close to fast food and other restaurants that we could easily walk to. The staff was mostly very helpful.

The room was large and there was an elevator to use, not just stairs.

BahamasI didn't like that there weren't eggs every morning. There were small baby roaches in the room, and the toilet wouldn't carry everything down when flushed. Had to flush 2/3 times.
Breakfast was just ok. Location was ok too. There was a African American guy on crutches at the ffront desk when we checked in who was very concerned about my mum who is handicapped. Also Nancy's thoughtfulness made our stay more memorable.
