Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesNo security on premises or around the property to prevent crackheads coming around in your pool and hotel parking lot. I just didn't feel safe. The young lady at check-in was nice and the staff. We didn't have the breakfast.
Pool is used for locals not staying at the hotel and that is horrible. It' a public pool not monitored anyone can come and go as they please. People were just driving off with 5-7 kids per car and your actual guest were not able to use the pool. Not good!!

United StatesThe green pool was closed but it was clear and green, just needing a couple days work to be ready to swim. A new pool maintenance vendor might do the trick. Sand filters are superior. Smoking areas outside need to be designated so butts are not tossed all over the stairwells, hall ways and parking lot.
Breakfast was dominated by kids. There were barely enough places to sit. The food was okay but mostly prepackaged. Room was quiet even though near the freeway, due to masonry construction. Bed was good, woke refreshed.

United StatesThe room was filthy…short curlies in the bathroom. I was charged a $50. Non refundable fee for my small dog who is cleaner than the room AND charged a refundable $100. That will be paid back in several days. The website did NOT mention a $50 pet fee. That was almost double my human fee. Felt like a bait and switch. I have stayed at a number of LaQuintas and paid $25. But NEVER AGAIN.

New ZealandEven though we chose the location to suit our requirements, it was not a safe area and I would not recommend it for tourists. There was lots of concerning street activity after dark and homeless persons wandering around. The exterior of the hotel was dirty and both the interior and exterior could do with a total refresh.
Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable as is always the case with La Quinta. Free onsite parking is very helpful. Even though it was only a 2 storey building there was elevator access to the second floor. The included breakfast is also much appreciated and convenient.
