Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe staff around the pool is not great. You may have to go to the bar to order your drink. I spoke with the manager on this and he seemed to take note. Hopefully, that will improve! I did not LOVE the coffee at the resort. I was hoping for Kona, but it's more of an acidic coffee so I drank tea. They do have Nespresso in the rooms, so that was pretty good. These items are so minor, hardly worth mentioning!!!
The grounds are stunning! Unbelievably serine. The entire resort is just so beautiful and CLEAN. I highly recommend eating at The Restaurant and having LYNN as your server; I would request her! We stayed one week and I could have stayed two. I loved our room. It was so nice that my husband could go in the next room and watch golf and I could take a nap. Very private.

CanadaWe loved the pool area but had to leave on several occasions because the bartender was so LOUD, obsequious and talked incessantly to other staff and/or guests. He left on vacation during our stay and, as a result, the pool area was so lovely and peaceful. Some guests may enjoy this type of non-stop banter but he was so loud that we could not avoid hearing all of his conversations and could not concentrate on reading or our own conversations. We had to return to our room to get some peace and quiet and escape the constant chatter at a volume that was way too loud! It was unfortunate because the pool area is otherwise so beautiful and the other staff were so lovely. The food was very good but not great and overpriced for what it was. The birdcage, in particular, was a disappointment. The music was way too loud and we were not impressed with the food. We tried it twice and did not return. Although a minor thing, it would have been nice to have a full-length mirror in the room. The wifi reception was not very good.
Very quiet and peaceful for the most part. Certainly a place to relax and recharge. The room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. Staff, were friendly, responsive and very helpful (in particular, Leah, the Manager of Guest Services). Little extras like complimentary snacks in the room was a nice touch.

Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional. The food and staff were great, with a beautiful view. The room was also superlative, with a large sitting area, great bedroom and bathroom. We also appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave. The fitness room was well equipped, with a lovely view. Overall, an awesome experience. We would definitely return.

United KingdomThe cocktails and restaurant was astronomically expensive and it's a shame that hotel guests don't receive any kind of special discount for these. If you have absolutely no budget at all, this won't be an issue.
A very beautiful hotel with a boutique feel. The free shuttles to Wailea were very useful. The room was clean and modern. Perfect for a honeymoon.

I have never made a review in booking, but for this hotel I have to make the best review, even thought we had trouble with hot shower in the first day, the hotel did every possible to compensate the issue, providing us with an update and giving us 50% off and free breakfast, beside of that, I have never seen a more gentle staff and a more incredible service in my life!

United StatesThe prices are steep. We anticipated high prices and were STILL in a little bit of shock over the drink/food prices on property. There is nowhere to purchase any sundries. However, they can pop you down to the market in no time should you need to get anything, so not THAT big of a deal.
Room: The size of the room and bathroom was amazing. Lanai: Perfect for curling up and reading books. Pool: The pool had a great low-key vibe; the biggest perk of a boutique and adults-only property is the lack of screaming children and plenty of pool chair availability. Grounds: The grounds were vast and fun to explore. Transportation: Cars were readily available to take you wherever you want to go. Beach: Beach experience was perfect; they will take you there (2 minute drive), set you up with umbrella/chair/sunscreen/water, and pick you back up. So easy.

United StatesThe couple wish they didn't change hotel and were able to stay in the Celebration Room for the entire trip.
This hotel was reserved for a couple celebrating their babymoon. During their stay, they commented on how friendly and professional the staff was. They enjoyed having breakfast on the ocean-view balcony. They did not rent a car in Maui, so the private shuttle service was ideal! They also enjoyed the pool and cabanas. They also enjoyed mocktails at The Birdcage Bar and a three-course dinner at The Restaurant on their last day on the island. Initially, they checked out of Hotel Wailea after three nights to stay in another hotel to explore the west side of the island, but they didn't like it and returned to Hotel Wailea for the rest of their time on the island.

wow where to start, the resort is incredibly beautiful and extremely accommodating. the room is spacious, private, clean and overlooking the beach. complimentary drinks and snacks, comfy bed, wireless chargers, huge bathroom, but the staff is where i have to give credit. there is a complimentary shuttle service that will take you anywhere in the waileka area. kudos to charles, matt, kai, jordan, gustavo, michael, zane, and david. these guys are prompt, attentive, and friendly. i was sad to say goodbye to them. their sense of friendliness matches their sense of urgency. Then there was our waitress at the pool Bailey who was the sweetest friendlies girl. 10/10

EVERYTHING! From check-in to check-out, everything at this hotel is worth celebrating. The premises itself are stunning and the facilities are wonderful. The hotel employees were friendly, gracious and helpful. The rooms themselves are large and have everything one would need for a comfortable stay - including complimentary snacks and drinks. The pool area is perfect to relax and enjoy the sun with poolside service. The shuttles are also convenient to take away the stresses of driving and/or parking. Having beach access with loungers and an umbrella just down the hill was also a pleasant treat. We also loved the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

the property is simply perfect. The staff are the best I’ve ever experienced in all my travels. the rooms are comfortable and appointed with everything you might want. Even though we had torrential rain for our entire trip (sub optimal indeed) the beauty of the place and the whales in the distance made our holiday restful and easy.

United StatesNot enough signs to find things. (Gym/Wellness room) Maybe do a little more at check in to orient guests? And just a suggestion, but I’d add a phone in the gym. There was a huge rain storm and water was coming down from the ceiling and close to the power outlets in the floor. I would have called the front desk, but no idea how to do so. Also, in an emergency, what would I do? You have a lot of older guests and I watched one really pushing it on a Peleton bike. He could have easily over exerted himself. Maybe add an AED too? Maybe I’m overly concerned, but even a simple placard that says who to call if you need anything on the refreshment counter would help. I think it would help at check in too to ask if the guests need dinner reservations at The Restaurant. We had a text arrive a couple hours later and I was concerned we weren’t going to get in.
Stunning water feature and grounds. Adorable lovebirds in the bar. Incredible view. Inviting public spaces decorated beautifully. Amazing gym. Exceptional staff - except one guy. (I’ll explain below.) Phenomenal dinner at the restaurant.
