Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI was disappointed that the lobby had a fragrance in the air. I am sensitive the perfume/fragrance. I also got an email confirmation that said masks are required at all their hotels. We almost cancelled our reservation but called and found out the email was incorrect. Also, wish parking cost was part of the reservation. Lastly, I put that we had 3 people (our 17 year old with us). The booking said we would have 2 beds. We did have a sofa bed but no sheets in the room for it so called the front desk and could not get through so had to walk down to ask for additional bedding.
The cookies and water at check in were nice. Location was good and room was pleasant.

IsraelOur room was not ready on time and was relatively dirty. Also for the sofa bed we had to request linen as it was missing and also we were not provided with the right number of towels as the number of persons. The room was not cleaned during our stay.
The location of the hotel is nice and the staff were friendly. The hotel seems to have updated decor and the pool area and public ares seem fun and vibrant.

United StatesWe reserved a room for 3 people with a king and single bed. Upon checking in I confirmed that there was a single bed (in addition to the king). They knew we were 3 people. We went to the room and we were getting ready for bed. I pulled out the single (sofa bed) to find there were no sheets or bedding. The phone in the room was disconnected so I walked to the front desk (which was not busy at all) to ask them to bring bedding and make up the bed, and fix the phone. I waited. Nothing. Rather than schlep back to the main desk, I called with my cellphone. They sent someone with 2 sheets, no pillow, no blanket, and no concern about the inoperable phone. He left and returned with the rest of the bedding. I made up the bed, as they simply handed the stuff to me. When I reserve a room with those beds I expect them to be made up and ready. That’s why I reminded them upon check in. And to ignore me when I went to the desk to ask was really annoying.
It was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe WIFI situation is not great, generally, wifi nowadays is provided for free almost everywhere in the world whereas here you only get complimentary wifi for simple browsing not enough for streaming or watching videos. Also, you have a nice modern TV in your room however you are not able to 'stream/cast' from your own personal device onto the TV. This is quite poor.
The location is great. It is a 30-minute walk to the coast, generally a nice area.

United Statesi didn't like the timed bathroom light. Went off too soon. Think the shower door was mounted backwards, because their were no grab bars in the shower. Temperature good but water pressure a little low.
Heating was good, except a little noisy when kicking on. Beds were good. Coffee machine worked well. Lighting and plugins were good. Room was quiet. TV had a good picture. Overall a nice room.
