at first glance made us think us think twice because it is old and under reconstruction but open so once we figured that out we were ok with facilities and stayed. no one bothered us, office gave us recommendations for places to eat as well. we decided on Kranberries, which I have to say has a nice twist on chicken fried steak and I could cut the chicken fried steak with my fork. a pleasant surprise and the staff and service were nice and attentive.

under remodeling so upon arrival not sure was open honestly but it was. we were looking for just an overnight stop and did not want to spend $150 elsewhere. This is an older Main St motel that is trying to stay alive, and that was fine with us. shower pressure was excellent, AC units had recently been removed, cleaned out, put back in place and ran very well and kept our room very cold. refrigerator had a small freezer which was great to refreeze our cooler packs and keep drinks cold for next days travel. Bed was comfortable. Two things to note. trains roll through during the night. did not bother us much. the commode in 103 had a broken handle but we just took top off and used the backup pull up tube to flush. tried to report when we checked out next morning but office was not open so left the top off knowing they would figure it out quickly and replace.

The front desk area smelled so strongly of cigarette that it was hard to breathe.

The room itself was clean, but worn. Rather a spooky vibe to the whole place though. abandoned pool building in center.

This is my fifth time here through the years. The place is slowly getting more run down. For a while they were getting better year by year. Seems to have new owners. Could use a better cleaning crew. Chairs were stained. Not the cheapest place in town anymore.

Location for the trains and interesting old run down area. We're right across the street from the train tracks. When the trains come through you'd think that you were sleeping on the track itself. Doesn't bother me as I love the sound of trains. Just something to be aware of.

The new owners just acquired motel in April, they were very friendly accommodating and provided super customer service. Great hot water pressure shower, needed more towels & pillows and happily received them. Bed comfy just alittle hard, very cold AC.

There is a delapidated pool house and broken down playground that need to be removed and replaced with nice landscaping or something instead. It makes the place look very sketchy. I made the reservation online but had I seen the place in person first, there is no way I would have stopped there.

The owner is very nice. We were so surprised at how large the rooms are! No other budget hotels have rooms this big. It was very clean and comfortable as well.

There is a train crossing right across the street that is somewhat loud. However, it does not run late, as I was able to sleep through the night without disturbance.

This place is a great value. I stayed here for one night and it was perfect. Staff was friendly And helpful, the room was larger than expected and clean. I felt like the location was safe (solo female traveler). Very good experience for the price and for what I needed.

The location has positives and negatives. It is in a run down, semi abandoned part of town, but that made it quieter and made me less worried about vandalism or theft. However, the train tracks are across the street, so the train is loud. I heard it the first time, but the rest of the night I was able to tune it out.

We read lots of reviews for this area, and decided to check out the place before we booked. We were met by the manager and he encouraged us to book online to get the best price. The room was comfortable and clean. The motel is in the process of being renovated, and our room was nicely done. I loved the flowered sheets, “real” pillows and fluffy towels. It was a great place to stay. The parking lot was well lighted, and one where you pulled right up to the door. We would stay again.

It was an older facility but has been updated. I'm not one for fancy hotels. After all, I just sleep there and go on my way. It was worth the stop, and I would stay again.

The occasional train noise

The staff were especially hospitable and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. The shower had instant hot water with great pressure. The entire unit was very clean.
