Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandEverything extra costs something, if you try to check in early there’s a cost, if you want a beach umbrella there’s a cost. For the price of the room some of these things should be included. Also we stayed in a room in the Tapa Tower, the room looked out over a depressing scene, large noisy extractor fans and rubbish on the rooftop.
Good facilities

Australia3 days of strike was not a great experience. Waking up to yelling and going to sleep to yelling wasn’t ideal. Having a dirty room and dirty corridors was suboptimal. Hilton knew about the strikes 3 weeks in advance, least they could’ve done was warn us and also decrease the nightly charge considering we did not get what we paid for.
The pools, water slides of the kids and the beach. Service in the restaurants was great.

United StatesWe can't think of anything significant enough to mention. Some people wrote about how huge and busy the place is. It is large and at check in time it is very busy. But again...the staff went above and beyond to get us up to our room super quickly so we could make the shuttle for our dinner sunset cruise. That took some extra effort by our bell hop, Brandon. He's amazing. Well done, and Mahalo to Brandon and all staff.
The grounds are very pretty with fish ponds, trees, and birds. Although the resort is very large, it doesn't feel like it, the way it's laid out, with many nice shops and eateries to enjoy. We stayed in Tappa tower, which was modern and clean with well-appointed rooms. We had a king ocean view room, where we enjoyed tea on the balcony every evening. We really appreciate that right outside the elevator lobby, steps away was the pool and an open air bar with food and live music every night. We had a great time staying here.Highly recommend Tappa Tower. But the most appreciated thing was the way we were treated by the staff. Everyone from the bell hop, to the waiters, to the young staff at Crazy Shirts (fantastic shop, btw), to the pleasant lady who checked us out. Pleasant, patient, conversant.Just lovely people. They made our stay so much better because we felt like our comfort and experience mattered. I can not say enough about Hilton Hawaiian Village. We will absolutely stay here again. Mahalo 😁

United KingdomVery expensive to stay at the hotel, but it is Hawai'i! Drinks very expensive too - $10 for a beer & $15 for a cocktail plus tax! Could not get the shower regulated, it's was either scalding or freezing! Would have liked another mirror in the bedroom away from the bathroom.
Stayed in the Ali'i tower. Room was lovely with a really comfy bed. Loved the quick check-in and pool only for Ali'i guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location on Waikiki beach was amazing! Restaurants and stores very convenient within the village.

PhilippinesFor its value, there are no provided dental kits and no available drinking water in the room. Water also collects in the bathtub when we shower and it takes time for it to drain completely. We can also hear other guests next door. There are also some stains on the carpet..
Our room was pretty big with a view of the beach and the city. The resort is nicely located in the beach front. There are a LOT of restos and stores near the resort which makes the stay convenient and accessible.

United StatesDefinitely need more than one beach view bar! More adult friendly nightlife places. It surprised me how much like Disney/ family heavy it was. Everyone was closing down early. Please don’t forget your adult vacationers who just want a pretty view, social company and a good adult beach beverage. I am just saying not everyone who wants an adult beverage responsibly needs to be treated like some spring break drunken idiot.
Staff were amazing and location was incredible. Especially Erl at the pool side bar! I will definitely be coming back because of him.

United StatesThe rooms have no microwaves. While I understand the desire to want people to spend money in restaurants and order room service, a simple microwave would not affect this from occurring.
Tapa Tower offered a beautiful view of the ocean and the lagoon. The room was larger than my previous stays in the Ali'i Tower, and my view was wonderful.

United StatesIt seems the facility wants to nickel and dime you for everything. Outrageous prices for parking and high food prices when around the corner you can have much more authentic cuisine and better value.
We were upgraded to a room that had much more to offer than what was initially purchased. Front desk staff was extremely kind and helpful.
