Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOld, lifts too ages to come, not easy to contact staff, and I left behind an item and haven’t been able to contact the hotel to retrieve it. Also was told on check out that my stay wouldn’t count towards my Hilton Honors points, which was disappointing as I asked on checking in and was time differently.

SlovakiaThe facilities are quite old and worn out The carpet had holes in it, the furniture was missing pieces, and the USB charger didn't work at all. But the worst were the elevators, since they kept breaking down, resulting in 15+ minutes waiting time even outside of peak hours
Obviously the location of this place is crucial. Also the staff was very nice and did their best.

CroatiaI did not like the attentivenes of the front desk when I asked for help (scissors) to fix my dress I needed to call multiple times and I finally went downstairs to get scissors. They were not organised and not interested to go above and beyond to support their gues’s needs. Elevators are extemly slow, too.

United KingdomI didn’t like on leaving my luggage for storage that it was left unmanned while people were walking by. I didn’t feel comfortable walking away until I knew it had been stored away. The staff were lovely even though they didn’t understand my concerns.

New ZealandThe air conditioning unit was extremely loud and being positioned close to the bed did not aid restful sleep. We couldn't find out how to turn it off as no instructions were available. The coffee machine in our room was broken, twice we asked for it to be fixed and they said they would but nothing happened. The lifts were terrible and two days out of the three we were there one wasn't working which made the situation worse. Breakfast didn't start until 7 which meant on our last day we couldn't have breakfast, even though we had paid for it, as we had to leave the hotel at 6.45. We have stayed in many Hilton Hotels around the world this one was the worst by far.
A good location with easy access to a number of tourist sights. Breakfast was good if a little repetitive.

United StatesOnly 2 elevators were working. It took 20 minutes to get to my room upon arrival because of slow and full elevators. I waited 10 minutes for an elevator to reach my floor when I went out later. Plus one elevator smelled like roach spray. The shower spray was so far above my head, I found it hard to get clean. Would only stay here again on sale price.
Location was ideal for why I was in New York.
