Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe shower was a little small and the shower head was mounted a bit low.
It’s right on the water! The view from our room was amazing, especially knowing the room rate was cheap compared to the ritzy resorts. We liked that it was a local hotel, that we were in a place that was real Hawaii, if that makes sense. Sure it looks old, but when you take a step back and look at it, it was a super cute hotel that felt like Hawaii. The workers were really friendly and so were the guests; everyone said hello in passing. I’m not sure why everyone is complaining about it having no AC - you genuinely don’t need it! The “Hawaiian AC” worked perfectly at night - keeping the windows open to get the breeze, with the room fan on to circulate it. And the sound of the waves breaking on the coast helped put us to sleep.

United StatesNo lift but knew that when booked, luggage up and down was difficult. No AC but knew that when booked No screen on large window so couldn't get a through breeze without letting the bugs in, and definately needed the breeze with no AC.
Great view across Harbor. Comfortable bed. Full-size fridge/freezer. The shower had good pressure and heat. Free parking available. Saw 2 turtles right under the window. Budget hotel in great location.

United StatesThe hotel looks a little old and may need renovation. The parking lot is quite narrow, so it is challenging to park and leave. No introduction from staff to let guests take advantage of some facilities, e.g. swimming pool and ocean view. Wifi signal is weak thus I had disconnections occasionally.
The location is my favorite because it is close to the Hilo Airport. The room is compact, but has a fridge and a microwave. The price is acceptable compared with nearby hotels. The bed is large and comfortable.

AustraliaFrom the outside the property and all of this area of Hilo has seen better days. The neighbourhood is a little rundown and has been taken over by cats.
The property was clean and tidy, as described and the room was comfortable. Bed was comfortable and everything worked. The location near the park and banyan trees has the potential to be quite lovely. A retro restoration would jazz the hotel up.

CanadaI don't think this is specific to this place; the prices on the Big Island are just super high. Calibrated to the offerings in Hawaï, the Reeds Bay Hotel is a very good place.
Like many of the buildings in Hawaï, the hotel building has worn out feel, but the rooms are well maintained, clean, and the bed super comfortable. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We didn't use the swimming pool. There are so many wonderful beaches closeby which we preferred to go to instead. The hotel is very well located, just a few steps away from the Hilo garden, which is a very wandering about.
