Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe breakfast needs more focus. The pastries seemed high end, but not fresh. Options were extremely limited. Pastries, granola and frittata, that’s it. The last day had no normal milk, only oat milk.
Clean historical building. Plenty to appreciate. Everything was beautiful.

United States of AmericaThe institutionalized nursing home smell of the hallways was a bit off putting. The energy there is undeniable. The bathroom mirror lights would not stay on; they constantly flickered and/or turned off.
Foremost, the architecture and decor was amazing! Then, the room had modern furnishings.Next, the outdoor grounds make a very nice morning stroll. Also, the front desk staff were very kind.Last, the croissants and frittatas offered for breakfast are delicious.

CanadaIt would have been nice if the restaurant and bar were open on Sunday and Monday but the Gentleman Mason at the front desk was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction for local bars and restaurants.
The continental breakfast was a nice selection although small but good coffee and hot water for tea etc. we generally don't have a large breakfast so it was perfect for us.

United States of AmericaLarge christmas ornaments and lit tree out front seemed odd for late May.
Beautiful hotel. The room was huge, with super high ceilings and huge windows. Very big, comfortable bed. Very quiet. The property is very interesting to learn about its history, architecture, and evolution. Very close to the University and art museum.

United States of AmericaThe A/C / temp control in my room was out so it was a bit stifling. Soldiered through due to Midwest nice tendencies and the temperate weather, but the windows didn't open so by the third night I was kind of over it. My own fault for not asking to be moved to a different room. Just a heads up for anyone who needs windows that open!
The location couldn't be beat. Staying at a historic hotel on a college campus when the students were gone for the summer was a kick. Situated perfectly between Buffalo happenings and Niagara Falls. Walking distance to the art museum and great neighborhood coffee shops! Ate at the Cocina in the hotel one night. The waitstaff at the bar were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Had an amazing pork belly and the best tiramisu I've ever head. Highly recommend.

The history of the location was really cool. The front desk staff was super nice and accommodating. The grounds were well kept and easy access to the hotel.

United States of AmericaI understand that people can get lost in such a vast facility; however, the signage - especially at the entry - the arrows pointing to the lobby - too much - takes away from the beauty of the place. It's overkill the arrows in the foyer.
Breakfast was fine - nothing to write home about. The hotel and grounds are amazing and I sincerely enjoyed my stay.

CanadaRestaurant & bar was not open on the night we stayed. Room had some mechanical sounds in the night. Breakfast room needs more small tables for guests.
Large comfortable King room with tall ceilings & natural light/views. Wonderful historical preservation & conversion of the original building. Small museum & Architecture center for history of the building. Great location for visits to the FLW Martin House or the AKG gallery.

United States of AmericaReally nothing that we did not like. Wished there was a mini fridge in the room. It was a Monday night and the bar restaurant was not open. Hotel was quiet. Someone in a review said they heard road noise but we did not. There was a random noise that we heard intermittently like a loud buzzing that was annoying and would have been hard to sleep but they allowed us to change our room.
The hotel has such an interesting history that we had to stay here! What a beautiful and remarkable renovation! We walked around the interior and took tons of photos and the exterior perimeter. The person at the desk was knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was lively. The large windows are awesome! I can't say enough good things about it and would stay here again! The restoration is magnificent. They left exposed columns and other areas which was super cool. We took tons of photos. It was only about 15 minutes to the airport. Good location. Bed was quite comfortable. I think all of the signage was helpful in such a large facility. The small museum downstairs was agreat addition and quite interesting.
