25 year anniversary which on arrival we were told happy anniversary which was nice, on our second day another couple booked in on their anniversary and they were given a bottle of champagne, thought this was very nice gesture, but we didn't receive one? We also stayed just outside national park, which we wanted to visit, but you need to book a pass in advance, we were not informed of this despite booking 4 months prior our visit, surely pending guest should be informed on the need to book a pass for the island national park almost next door. This was a great shame that we could not visit.

One morning we had neighbors with children slamming the screen door and being noisy (noise before 8AM is not allowed by the property) but it did not happen again.

Right on the beach, our condo was fully renovated, had a full kitchen, and was perfect for two. The pool area was also beautiful. It was very clean and very beautiful. We were nervous about not having AC (went early June) but it was fine. Overall, the location was fabulous. Highly recommend.

There were lots of the lizards that the new wife didn’t love.

We really enjoyed some of the simple things, such as opening our screen door and listening to the waves straight from the living room. The ocean was beautiful and the property was well taken care of.

No usb charging plugs. Some dated feeling cabinetry, some things could be refurbished but added to ambience of the place.

Location is special. No TV. No AC, we never felt like we wanted AC. The weather is very comfortable and breezy. Listening to ocean at night. Not crowded. Steps to beach, beautiful sunrise and sunset. Full kitchen.

I do wish there was a change/detergent dispenser machine in the laundry room. The laundry room was open until 8pm but we weren't able to grab the things we needed since the office had already closed. Be sure to bring your own detergent/quarters if you plan on doing laundry later in the evening.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The staff and hosts were excellent and friendly and the room was beautiful. There's a great restaurant and bar directly next to the resort and my wife and I got a chance to chat with one of the hosts who was a delight. We'll definitely be staying here again as soon as possible.

the pool is at the back of the property and not well connected to the entire resort and while it is beautiful, comfortable and with excellent poolside furniture, grills and hot tub, it feels a bit disconnected.

The view from our room of the grounds and ocean was idyllic. Our unit was well appointed, comfortable and nicely furnished. The front office staff were extremely friendly, available and helpful.

Two of the hotel staff were a bit difficult and even rude at first, especially to my mother-in-law, which unfortunately put a sour note on the start of our visit. They seemed unhappy with us when our plans changed and we had to arrive after hours - we stopped by the office in-person the next morning. I'm not sure why exactly it upset them, because they didn't explain and they have a good system for this very thing. They must have been under stress for some reason. They treated us much better after that.

Hanalei Colony is a tranquil refuge away from the hustle and bustle of car traffic and urban life, though creature comforts like a coffee shop, bar and restaurant are within a stone's throw on the resort property. We loved being so close to the beautiful beach with the constant sound and drama of the crashing waves. We also enjoyed our proximity to Ha'ena State Park and State Beach, the Kalaulau Trail, and Lumahai Beach (where my mom and mother-in-law had us film them singing "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" from South Pacific, since it was shot there:)

A lovely stay near the end of the road on Kauai's north shore. Amazing views of the ocean waves, and beaches were fantastic. Everything we needed in our unit, and super comfy bed. Thank you, especially to the window washers who kept our windows so clean washing off the continual salt spray!

Everything was great - if there was anything I would suggest, it would be to include a breakfast option, as the options around the hotel were limited. The hotel is geared towards more self-sufficient people and doesn't have a lot of staff presence, which was fine for me, but just something to be aware of.

Incredibly spacious, cozy, and located on the edge of breathtaking wilderness, this place has a truly unique vibe. I also got a free room upgrade.

Our stay was excellent. The minor problem was that neighbor's fan controls also controlled fans and embedded lights in our unit. We woke up to the fan over our bed fully lit and blasting. Pretty fast we realized that our control turned off neighbor's fan. After some back and forth with neighbors we just disconnected lightbulbs from our fans. Maintenance came fast next morning but wasn't able to fix it. Rather an amusing incident.
