Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesif the hotel had a bar would have been nice. on the website it stated 2 queen beds; however at the hotel they stated they only had twin sized beds. Room was kind of small; but nice. rooms right on the beach would be ideal. lost power for 4 hours, no back up generator at hotel.
clean hotel, nice location.

AustraliaTry avoid giving rooms overlooking the car park to families because car alarms go off and the kids wake up. Nightmare to get them back to sleep :(
Beautiful pool and location, movie night for kids. Offered us a room to chill after check out and showers because our flight was late in the evening. Our son was able to watch a bit of TV but also we had access to the pool too. Very friendly staff.

PolandThe only minor drawback was that we could not charge our meals at the hotel restaurant to our room. We always had to pay directly at the restaurant. So it is important to remember to take your credit card with you.
Excellent location. Very modern and clean hotel with friendly staff located just a few meters from the ocean. We had a room on the 18th floor with a direct ocean view, so we enjoyed watching the sunset over the ocean while sitting on the balcony. We were also able to enjoy live Hawaiian music every night from the sister hotel Halekulani across the street. There is a very good restaurant on site so the food was excellent. There are also really good restaurants in the sister hotel Halekulani and we were able to charge everything to the room from there as well. It was also no problem to extend our stay on the day of check out as our flight was at 9pm. Overall one of the best experiences we had on our travels. Highly recommended.

United StatesThe parking garage should have a 'car counter' so guests do not waste time circling the garage when there are no parking spaces available and can opt immediately for valet parking.
The hotel is located in a cul-de-sac which helped tremendously with the tourists' noise. It was quiet and luxurious and quite enjoyable!

Australia- The bathroom was a little small for our preference, but it was still nice. - Although there is a bakery onsite, (on the street near the lobby), the onsite restaurant Umi is fine dining and very expensive. It would be good to have a more affordable dining option onsite. - Install a normal toilet. The one that is there is way too bulky for the space.
- This hotel had a great check in experience. The lady who served us was thorough, friendly and provided us with a map and helpful information on what’s happening at the hotel (there’s daily free activities) and the good spots in the surrounding area. - Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived but they held our luggage for us. - The hotel has no resort fees which is definitely a plus in Honolulu! - It is closeby the main area of the strip and the surrounding area has plenty of shops and places to eat. It is halfway between the different beaches on the strip (which makes it easier to explore either end). - Everything was so clean! - Daily room servicing. - The room is decorated in a modern, beachy way. It had a small two person table / chairs to sit at. It wasn’t very noisy staying here despite being central. We were on the 22nd floor and had gorgeous mountain views. The room was spacious enough for two people. The room has a small juliette balcony (no furniture). - Loved the electric blinds (block out and sheer) and lighting panel on one side of the bed. - If you are taking a tour, ie to Kuola Ranch, or a shuttle bus, it departs a short 3min walk away from Aloha Landing Bus Depot. - There’s a self service laundry room which costs 4.50 usd to use the washer & 4.50 usd to use the dryer. Only takes quarters OR you can download an app to pay digitally.

United KingdomWould have liked a bar and lounge area in the hotel itself, but if you wanted this you had to go across the road to the parent hotel (Halekulani). A chilled soft drink vending machine would have been useful
Perfect location right at the start of Waikiki. Easy to get about on foot, everything just 2 minutes from hotel. The hotel entrance is at ground level and rooms start on the 8th floor (parking on 2-7) My room had a fantastic lanai (balcony) with 2 loungers as well as 2 chairs and a table, it was about 12ft x 15ft! I had a lovely view of the sea. All other floors that had the sea view only had the normal small balcony. Everything was very clean and staff very friendly. There was a small bar by the pool which is only open till about 6pm. Loved that they provide slippers in the room and also water bottles that you can keep (no charge) and on every floor there is a water fountain to fill them up.

RomaniaNothing I could think of, everything was delightful.
Very friendly and polite staff, great amenities, great complimentary activities (while we were there, there was a wine degustation event with a piano concert, a movie night on the rooftop terrace, a yoga class and many more) and overall an excellent location. The room we stayed in was well organized, very clean and yes, the Japanese toilet was a highlight as well :)

AustraliaI wouldn’t say ‘didn’t like’, but the only thing to be aware of is that the closest beach access is a small beach and the tide can be a bit much for smaller children. But Main beach is only a 10min walk away!
The hotel was beautiful. I don’t remember seeing anything that wasn’t clean or needed maintenance. All staff is super friendly. Calls to reception were answered promptly. They offer a free activity for guests each day of the week which was really enjoyed by my daughter. The pool is area is really nice and clean with a nice pool bar. Free sun beds and towels. There are cabana’s you can rent for $75 minimum spend, but honestly the free lounges are just as nice. The pool doesn’t go any deeper than 1.2m which is good when travelling with kids. Very close to the Royal Hawaiian Center which offers plenty of shopping opportunities and food options. You can grab a free towel bag for beach visits.

United StatesThe pool was not heated and very windy on the upper level.
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms exceeded our expectations in terms of amenities (toto washlet, complimentary water bottle, beautiful refrigerator, all electronic controls including window sheers and blackout curtains) and very comfortable beds. In addition the staff was extremely helpful, the facilities spotless, a level that included a garden, pool, hospitality suite with ATM and office features. The lobby was filled with comfortable furniture to wait for our departure. A fabulous bakery with great coffee and breakfast items was adjacent to the hotel. All in all exceeded our expectations relative to the price we paid and top notch for any price.
