The place is beautiful and cozy. The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. I live the balcony with view to the river It’s right on the center and walking distance to everything that we wanted to visit They put water and pastries at the libby every day and also wine on the afternoons

Unbelievable! Absolutely beautiful setting overlooking the river. Wonderful hotel with themed rooms, we stayed in 'wild west' and the room had quirky references to this theme, including a saddle as a toilet roll holder. Bathroom had a copper slipper bath tub. Loved it all! Fabulous facilities including the outdoor 20 seat hot tub. We only stayed one night during the holiday season but wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely has the wow factor

Breakfast was appaling. Some greasy cremated bacon dried up quiche buscuits and gravy. No bread available, some eggs would have been good. Hardly the 'chef prepared' breakfast they advertised on arrival.

Only that they were out of bar soap for a day, no big deal though to use liquid soap. Train horn noise in morning was a bit of an issue but that’s just part of historic Gruene.

Location , the hotel and views were exceptional. Quant, quiet, fun and beautiful. Breakfast by Garrett was excellent . Cinnamon rolls especially, along with frittata. All staff were superb, friendly, knowledgeable. Liz, Karen, and Didi.

This was definitely one for the books beautiful hotel with lots of character. If you have never stayed her its the perfect for a romantic couples getaway. It was relaxing private yet all we wanted to do was explore the beautiful scenery. We will definitely be back.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I have the same complaint as last time. The exterior doors to the balconies have a window on them that lets in too much light. There needs to be a curtain over it. Yes there is an adjustable blind but it is not light blocking. The rooms that face the parking lot are really bad about this, there is some kind of flood light that shines through the exterior door right into your face making it impossible to sleep. Booked a room in the back this time, not as bad but there needs to be a curtain over the window too, doesn’t get dark enough in the room for a good nights sleep.

The location is perfect. The hotel is lovely.

The bed was a little too soft for my taste. But everyone is different. Do not let that change your mind about staying.

The property was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The Hemingway room was extremely open and clean. The staff even made sure we had chocolate covered strawberries when we arrived back from our floating trip in the afternoon with a note saying Happy Anniversary. Highly recommend this location.

We are enchanted with this hotel. Welcoming, warm, and accommodating staff. Beautiful facilities. Truly gourmet complimentary breakfast from homemade pastries to spinach sausage frittata to biscuits and gravy. River access to floating with our rafts/tubes. In the heart of Gruene!

Room was a bit crowded and dated. Very small bathroom but rooms are all unique. Could not get the temperature as low as the thermostat was set. None off those were big issues so we didn’t mention them.

Great location and breakfast. There was a feeling of comradery among the guests. Pastries available all the time.

Our room faced the parking lot and a bright light shined in the window on the exterior door all night. That was on my side of the bed so I did not sleep all night with that light in my face. There is a blind but it does not block the light. There needs to be a curtain over that exterior door window in addition to the blind like they have on the window. If only I could have slept my stay here would have been great. I love the location.
