Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was no breakfast on site. Getting to the car park is through a very tight passage way which is not obvious when first arriving at the hotel.
The location of the hotel is great. The hotel also had lovely decor and the rooms were very comfortable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the experience was very personal. The property is very speakeasy vibe kinda spooky and dark but also really nice bright outside areas and so cool! Very vintage! Close to downtown and walking distance to shopping, eating and farmers market. Communication was very good ahead of our stay to plan ahead. The restaurant on site is so good! The tritip and ice cream were the best I’ve had!

United StatesThe room is very small with almost no room for luggage. There are so many "things to purchase" on the desk that there is almost no room to use on the desk. Falling asleep at night was tricky because there were constant intermittent low vibrations in the room from what I assume is other guests turning their water on/off or turning their AC on/off in their rooms.
This hotel captures the vibe of SLO. Interior design is on point. Included breakfast (croissants, yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee, orange juice) was high quality. Our room was beautifully decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Parking is free and easily accessible. Front desk responsive.

United StatesThe room was quite small, with not a lot of space for our luggage at all. Was 'upgraded' room but not really sure what that meant - they gave us a shared patio space? But the weather was awful so we never used it and they put us right on top of the cocktail bar which played music until 11pm+. Should definitely inform guests that this will happen beforehand. Got a text that the front desk would close at 11 but music was still going on at 11:15 so had no idea what to do. No earplugs provided upon arrival, but after complaining about the music the next day, they gave them to us. It isn't terrible, but I'm pregnant, so free cocktails after to make up for it doesn't help. Guests shouldn't have to go to the bar and ask them when they will close.
The hotel itself has retro European vibes. Decorations are a nice vintage aesthetic. Welcome drinks provided (need an alternative to alcohol though please). Rooms were nice and clean enough. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast provided (a rarity in the USA, so a very welcome touch!) Restaurant is delightful and food is excellent. Bar seemed nice too (I can't drink right now so didn't try it). Parking space provided. The soaps provided smell amazing - likely to order!

United StatesThe rooms are quite small, and the bathroom shower is Integrated into the bed area with no privacy. The suggestion is to make frosted glass (chic and elegant) instead of fully transparent glass. They have no concierge after 11 pm and leaving the back stairwell to the parking area open does not give the best safe feeling for guests.
Cleanliness and friendly staff. Nice welcome by Cassandra, clearly informing us about the hotel rules and welcoming us with a nice glass of local rose wine. After we checked out, One person in our family left the computer cables and phone cables at the hotel, and they kindly called us after we checked out to arrange the best way to ship our stuff. The bistro is cute, with a nice bar.

United StatesHorrible parking!! Awful tight driveway to get down. We had an awful chemical smell in our room. We had to sleep with a door open that goes to a shared balcony. The smell was so bad! Also the room was right over the hotel bar. It was loud until bar closed. I’ve stayed here before and it wasn’t like this. Wouldn’t go back based on recent trip.
Great location. Cool decor.

United StatesWish they had king-sized beds, but that is to be expected at an inn.
You cannot beat the location if you want to be right in the heart of downtown SLO. This inn is very charming. The bar is great (although we never ate in the restaurant). Bikes are available to cruise around the city, which is a nice bonus.
