Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere isn't a coffee maker in the room, the room is very dark and most of all the bathroom is for the size of a child. You need to lean over to look in the mirror, and I'm only 5'6". There is minimal space to keep your toiletries in the bathroom. However, the room (corner king) was exceptionally large for NYC.
Cannot beat the offerings at the hotel with the restaurants and bars. More than any hotel I've ever stayed. Big plus is you can get into the nightclub with your room key, especially when there is a line down the block! The restaurant Comodo, in the hotel is absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and I loved the free bottle water in the lobby.

IrelandThe room was very small for 4 sharing, although there was only 3 of us there was not a lot of space within the room for bags etc and it felt very cramped.
The bunk bed room is an excellent idea for a family group with slightly bigger kids aswell as friends sharing a room. Decor is lovely and the vibe of the hotel is really cool.

very clean room, but I asked for a quiet room and that meant a room literally facing a brick wall. ugh

Great entertainment options inside the hotel. They had club, lounge and nice restaurant on site. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

United StatesRoom was quite dark and faced in at a wall, but we were only staying one night and not in the room a lot so not too much of a problem for us. Relatively expensive for a smallish, dark room but in the current very high Manhattan prices this was a reasonably deal when compared to others. We wouldn't have been able to afford more than a night or two though. Would have been good to be able to make coffee in the room. There only appeared to be one person on reception at checkout but you can checkout online to avoid lines.
Location is central if you're traveling as a tourist. The Flatiron area has lost of restaurants and good access to the subway. Walkable to many areas. Room was relatively basic but nicely furnished with a modern bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and we appreciated free water to pick up in the lobby.

CanadaThere were cockroaches in the room that was alarming. Considering we were on the 17th floor, the building has a cockroach infestation that needs to be looked into.
Great location and room was pretty spacious for a hostel room. Loved the rooftop bar and club on the second floor with great music. The staff was super welcoming in the lobby and there was free water bottles in the lobby. Also the breakfast cafe and restaurant comodo were perfect.

NetherlandsBeautiful old building in a very central location. I walked most of the time to wherever I needed to be. The room I stayed in was the smallest one, but it was just fine for 1 person. Bed and shower were comfortable. My room was on the 16th floor and it was quiet, I slept really well. Unfortunately I didn't had a chance to see the rooftop terrace, because it was closed on Sundays. I did have dinner at the Comodo restaurant downstairs, which was very good.

United StatesThe dark carpet made the room feel a bit dark and uncomfortable for me. You can never tell how clean a dark floor is, so I was little uneasy with that. Also, the windows are not thick enough to drown out the constant noise from the city.
I liked the atmosphere and the vibe. The lobby and the restaurant were nice. The bathroom was small but clean. The rooftop bar was really nice. The bed was comfortable. The staff was nice and I liked that there was water available in the lobby.

AustraliaThere was nothing we did not like.
We liked the decor, especially the wall-sized, freehand drawing above the bed. It gave the room a unique feel, different from a standard hotel room. The location was very good, within easy walking distance to theatres and eating places. There was more space than I had expected, considering it is a New York hotel in Manhattan.

LebanonThe room they gave us was much smaller and very different than the one on booking.com! It had a wall in front of the bed( unlike the picture) and my son who happens to be very tall had his feet touching the wall
I liked that when I complained that the room was very small and not at all like the picture they showed on booking.com they immediately changed the room and gave me a bigger one! I appreciated it a lot

United StatesMost of staff seemed like even very limited interaction was a chore. Bathrooms tiny even by NY standards. No in room coffee or room service a bit of a negative.
Price, location, general vibe. Great value for a hotel that is not a generic cookie-cutter hotel. Location is great if you're comfortable with the subway which you should be!

United StatesIf you like bright rooms not for you because our room didn’t not have many lights so it was in the darker side. Worst thing was every time we walked into our room it smelled like sewage so we had to leave the window cracked our whole stay or else it was unbearable. So if your looking at this place or spending a few extra dollars somewhere else I’d suggest somewhere else if you don’t want to smell sewage.

CanadaThere was a lot of noise outside, due to construction and traffic. If the windows were double paned and could cancel the noise outside, that would have made our sleep a bit better

United Statesshower wasn't draining well, and we asked for someone to look at it and it didn't change anything until my husband pulled out the tub stopper completely as it seemed to be the issue. Just feel like this should have been checked over prior to anyone staying in the room. Also lighting in bathroom area was not the best and made getting ready to go out a little more challenging. I think a simple plug in magnified mirror/light combo could easily be mounted on the bathroom wall and would be great for anyone who wants to apply makeup.
Loved the coffee shop on main floor and great gym considering the size of the hotel. Also location was great, very centrally located to all the places we wanted to go.
