Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSubway tracks go right past the hotel and can be seen from the window of north facing rooms, it can be quite loud but become less frequent overnight. I am a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me. The hotel also provides white noise machines but I can imagine this may still be problematic for light sleepers
Super convenient location with a short subway journey downtown, station 5 min walk away. Not too far from Harvard campus either. Concierge were very helpful with checking in and helping me with my luggage. Beds are comfortable and rooms are plenty big enough. Breakfast buffet is very good and accommodates to dietary restrictions

United StatesWe were greeted with "Ok what are we doing?" How about hello, welcome to Fairfield Inn and Suites. Self parking was fine but not sure why I had to pay $40.00 for it.
Breakfast was excellent, staff at breakfast were friendly and professional, very attentive and helpful.

United Statesthe room was very small, and there didnt appear to be any soundproofing in the walls or ceiling. We could hear and feel the heavy footsteps of the people walking in the room above us
The room was clean and updated. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well lit. Breakfast was very good with a great selection of foods offered.

PolandA smelly carpet, although it wasn't something that would ruin our stay there. Breakfast had no veggies but seem this is a standard in US.
Extremely comfortable beds that gave us a very good sleep. The location was also great for us. Overall we can highly recommend this hotel.

United StatesOur flight to Boston was delayed a day - we called to ensure our ‘no show’ would be understood and the rest of the reservation be OK. We arrived and that person had cancelled our entire stay. Stupid. The towels were thin and frayed. There were 12 drawers in the room and only 7 inches of closet. We had to hang clothes on knobs around the room. There was a permanent night light in the bathroom that could not be turned off or blocked.
We enjoyed the location and the hot breakfast with a variety of options. Some staff were great - the breakfast staff were friendly, and the man who checked us in helped untangle a big mistake. The bed was very comfortable (although there was a queen sheet on a king bed, so it was skimpy). The window could open for fresh air.

BrazilEven though breakfast was included, there weren't many options to choose from, but besides that, everything was wonderful.
Great location, close to Lechmere station and the tourist spots at the beginning of the Freedom Trail. The hotel seems to be quite new, with comfortable rooms and spacious, clean bathrooms.

United StatesWe requested early check-in at noon but the hotel refused to accomodate any arrival before 3:00 p.m. When we tried to check in at 3:40 p.m., the room was not ready, occassioning a further delay. We had to pay a $40 per night parking fee, imposed by the City of Cambridge, that had not been prominently advertised on Booking.com. The hotel is fronted by an busy street and in the back, where our room was, a noisiy, elevated commuter train passes in both directions every 5-10 minutes. With the Sumner Tunnel from East Boston closed for repairs, this hotel is difficult to access from Logan Airport. It took us one hour by road to cover just a few miles. I would not stay there again.
Facility is very good. Breakfast was good. Room was excellent.

LithuaniaI couldn't open the window to let fresh air in, and sometimes, the air was poor in the room. I didn't sleep well in bed. Maybe there were exhaustion days, or the bed was too soft. Sometimes, there was an empty jar of juice, so I reported it to the personnel, who filled it in.
I liked that there was a different selection of breakfast each day. The room was excellent and clean, with an air conditioner. There are many places around, like shops and restaurants, that you can choose from. For example, I was in the star market next to the hotel and the Chinese restaurant.

United KingdomPoorly insulated walls allow you to hear lots of corridor noise, as well as outdoor traffic. Staff were generally a bit aloof, rather than especially proactive or welcoming.
Clean and fresh property, very well kept up, with a free breakfast. When the Green Line is running, it’s right by the T station (tho often offline for construction). Comfortable beds and excellent value for money, given proximity to downtown Boston.

United StatesMy shower was not clean when I arrived. The recycling from the previous guest had not been emptied. Breakfast is a complete sh*t circus: self-service is a small, cramped room. Very difficult to navigate. Food wasn’t that good either.
The property was incredibly close to the metro line which was very convenient. The staff I interacted with were all very nice and helpful.
