Check-in late at the outside counter (after coming from Seaworld). At front desk was the staff and security guard who was talking and laughing. No problem. After less than 10 minutes when we got to our room, one of us were in the restroom, there was a knock on our door! One of us asked, Who is it?!? A make voice said, “Open your door”. I replied, I am not opening the door! Who is it? Again, he replied…Open the door. Again, I said: We are not opening the door! Who are you?!? He finally, replied, security. We asked: What do you want? He finally said, show your ID. So, I did show it on the glass. Certainly would not and did not open the door…don’t care who it was, especially when checking in he and front desk staff clearly saw us at the check-in window! And we showed our IDs At check-in as required.

Roaches outside the walkway, people hanging out at all hours of the night, i suspect they live there. Dumpster was overflowing with trash laying on the ground and in the walkway

I have been coming to this EZ 8 for years, and it seems like it gets worse and worse. I reserved a non-smoking room, but I got a smoking room. The room was so dark, and the single light in the room was useless. The heater/ac worked but was so loud I couldn't use it. The bed was simply terrible with huge dips and valleys. Tiny TV, where most of the channels were so fuzzy, i could barely make out what was going on. I think this is the last time I will stay here.

I wouldn't recommend this location without a car. It's an easy walk to the Old Town Trolley Station, but there are a lot of homeless people in this area. I didn't have any problems walking around, but it's something I wish I was aware of beforehand. Also, the motel is pet friendly which is great, until someone leaves their pooch unattended and it cries and whimpers in the early morning (I experienced this).

Check-in was easy as was checkout. The facilities were a little run down, but it's about what I expected. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked fine and the pool looked clean, although I didn't use it.

The floors left my feet black. Quite a few homeless people mill about on the premises. The proximity to the train is very unfortunate. Police patrolled the parking lot nightly. Whether looking for fugitives, addicts, or what, I'm not sure, but it was a bit concerning.

The beds are clean and comfortable. The proximity to the beach, Mission Valley, Old Town, and so much more are very appealing. The front desk staff was really helpful and friendly. Under $90 a night within a few minutes of the beach? Insanely cheap. Police patrolled the parking lot nightly, so it had to be safe, right?

It was dirty. Under the bed there were dirty socks and dog balls. The price corresponds to the conditions. If it had been clean it would have been great.

The property itself was in very poor condition. Cracked and unmatched tile, scrapes and holes in the paint in the room, stains on the sheets and blankets (but I could tell they were clean). They didn’t have cups for water in the room or a coffee maker.

I didnt have a blanket, there wasnt sound cancellation so I got woken up by parties at 2 and 4 AM just partying outside of the building. You can clearly hear the room next to you.

great geographical location! loved being walkable distance to train/bus station and driving distance to food and stores. liked the option of having the vending machine, microwave, fridge, and pool. grateful for security and great front desk staff!
