I am a light sleeper. I could hear some traffic on Cesar Chavez in the night.

The house is stunning. The room was very comfortable. The “kitchen” was open 24/7 for snacking or an early breakfast. My husband and I walked the neighborhood and discovered a community garden, a place to have a draft beer, and a busy street with restaurants and shopping. (We did not eat or shop but the location of the home is good).

It’s an old building and a a result there was an “old” smell.

The breakfast had a good variety. The chocolate chip scones were delicious. The house was beautiful with so much character. I loved the woodwork. The location was convenient. The property was very clean, quiet, and private.

Decaf coffee would have been a nice option. Some of us older folks with heart/BP issues need to steer away from caffeinated beverages!

What a beautiful house! Our room was comfortable, while still keeping the old-style charm in place! We didn't avail ourselves of the continental breakfast, as we wanted a proper breakfast, but the offerings were fine. Coffee was good, but no decaf available. Available parking felt secure.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The property was stunning in every way. It was so clean and well cared for. It was peaceful even though it’s on a busy street you would never know. The staff were so incredibly nice and friendly. They truly thought of every detail and were so mindful. We slept so well too. We were on a road trip and this was our third and final stop and it was the best sleep of all. We will most likely be moving to Portland but if we ever needed to stay somewhere there hands down we would choose the Evermore guesthouse every time. The cutest places are in walking distance too. We just loved it!

The Evermore is ever where I'll stay in Portland. The place is lovely and exactly as described——only better because it's a beautiful historic property that is well-kept and well-appointed and far more comely than rote hotels. If you are looking for comfort, ease, loveliness and commodious accommodation, the Evermore is for you. The kitchen is a real bonus, with stocked healthful snacks, breakfast fare coffee and tea, and even organic half-and-half. And the staff is friendly and communicative. The cozy reading room with fireplace, books, and games is a total score.

As I said, the apples and mandarins needed to be refreshed. The mattress in the Hawthorne room was too hard for my taste, as were the pillows. The bathroom sink drained veeerrryyy slowly. I even think the residual soap from the shower drained up into the sink. Better lighting is needed from the steps coming down from the parking lot. As older people we worried about the moss growing on the front stairs. Slippery.

Breakfast was certainly adequate. The fresh fruit, apples and mandarins, were on their last legs. Banana bread was delicious. Coffee was good. The house was very clean, interesting to wander through and very convenient for our purposes. Staff were nice and pleasant.

I have no complaints about anything.

I love the building itself - the time period in which it is from. The rooms we have stayed in (this is our third time here) have been very comfortable and nicely appointed. Any of the other guests we met were very nice to converse with. The breakfast choices were very tasty.

    Nothing!

We were in town for a concert at Hawthorne Theater (Haken, they rocked the house). The Evermore was within walking distance. The neighborhood was very walker friendly. The house was amazing, the antiques were gorgeous and the self-serve kitchen was just what we needed. There were comments of ghosts in the guestbook, we didn't have any run-ins. We were in the 2nd floor suite, the hosts were kind enough to add a single mattress for my sister who decided to join us last minute. The off-street parking was good, too! Would definitely stay here again.
