Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesBreakfast service. The length of the lines and the attitudes of the staff cleaning. My daughter asked a staff member for a coffee cup (because there were only 4 mugs available) and those mugs were all dirty. His response was "there are coffee cups in your room." That was a completely unnecessary and inappropriate thing to say to a child. In addition, another staff member at breakfast seemed annoyed that people were still eating breakfast at 1015am (because breakfast ends at 1030). Those staff members need training on Customer Service.
Digital Key. No need to stop at the desk for check in and check out. Elevator service was quick. Pool was nice and I love that it stays open late. The attitude of the omelet chef at breakfast was amazing. Even though he was busy, he did not seem overwhelmed and had an AMAZING disposition!

United StatesI would have given perfect scores across the board except for the bellman (tall, older black gentleman). He was downright rude! Sulky, sullen, unapproachable and rude! He was put out by any task requested. I would have avoided him but I needed luggage stored and some other simple requests addressed. Isn't that his job?!
All the staff except for one (see below), room, cleanliness, perks - like breakfast and evening treats, location (dropping daughter off at Georgetown) and liveliness of entire hotel!

The Hotel was nice and clean. It was within walking distance to most of the Monuments and famous tourists sites like the White House , Washington monument and the Lincoln memorial.

United StatesWe had some issues with the washer and dryer that we used at the hotel. We kept having to feed it quarter because it barely dried our clothes. We had to go to the front desk and report the issue and maintenance came up to assist us. Also, there was a short in the phone wire in our room but be reported to the front desk to make them aware as well..
We really enjoyed the made to order omelette station. The food was prepared well and it was delicious. The suite that we had was wonderful! It was so comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the comfy beds as well. I loved the view of the tree lined streets and it was very quiet and peaceful. I had a very restful nights sleep. All of the staff from the Concierge, front desk, cleaning staff and even the wait staff in the restaurant was very, pleasant, welcoming and accommodating. They really made our stay pleasurable.

Pool and hot tub were awesome. The location was excellent, we walked the 1.2 miles to the Lincoln memorial. It was clean and has an on site restaurant.
