Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesBreakfast voucher/offer was a joke. Using the voucher you get extremely basic sub-par breakfast, and you still end up paying a lot, because the upcharge for any minimal extras, like a glass of juice, is unreasonably expensive. I would recommend to anyone staying at the hotel to go find breakfast outside - being in the middle of NYC there are so many options that are better than what the hotel offers. It would be best for the hotel not to claim "breakfast included", than offer the voucher.

IndiaI called some parcels from Amazon to the hotel, so they charge me 8 Dollars per parcel which is like very unnecessary.

United StatesA clear lack of attention to detail. There was mold in my room on the ceiling. While the moldings have been painted a nice color, the paint is chipped and gives the appearance of something that hasn’t been taken care of. Windows are very dirty and had paint splatter. The room I stayed in was definitely no frills. It didn’t even have a dresser. In the bathroom, there was only one outlet, not even an outlet with two receptacles, only one.
The location is great…right off Times Square. The elevators are quick and it is very secure. There are many outlets in the sleeping area.

United StatesThe discounted and free breakfast at the hotel was so bad we didn’t use our tickets and ate good breakfasts at other restaurants. Why was there no hand soap in the bathrooms? Loud construction all night outside our room. We had a hard time getting someone to come up to unlock our joined rooms. Didn’t use that feature until almost 3rd day.

United KingdomRoom was lacking a fridge. The ‘Grab and go breakfast’ was very poor - there was no Oatmeal (which was advertised as available). It was Impossible to borrow a table knife to cut fruit for a child - obviously we wouldn’t bring a knife with us as we flew in to NY. The rolls were very greasy and the ‘parfait’ was over sweetened and heavy. The same options every day.
