Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

AustraliaThe communal showers are see-through with that frosted shower glass - I don't like that anyone can come into the bathroom and essentially see your outline showering. They should paint the fronts. There is no communal soap in the shower. The front area of the hostel smells due to the take-off of shoes. They should put some air freshener in there. The lock system is kinda complicated to get into the hostel but mostly annoying. There is an alcohol store a couple doors down that shuts early but during the day people will ask you for money, didn't feel unsafe tho.
There is a free chocolate chip pancake breakfast with choice of peanut butter or corn syrup. The wifi works well. The kitchen seemed well equipped, although we didn't use it. You receive your sheets and towel inclusive of the cost. There are small lockers to lock up your valuables, bring your own lock. You do have to remove your shoes which means the hostel rooms don't smell.

GermanyRoom is too tiny for two persons, the beds are old and the upper bed moves dangerously. They dont have private room options. The two person dorm is too tiny for two people. There is literally no space to put two 23kg bags (one per person). Its too expensive for a tiny two bedroom. Most of the staff is nice, a few are sarcastic.

United Kingdomtoo many people in one room, a tiny room with 10 beds made it impossible to have a proper sleep. I was there two nights and slept around 5 hours each because if you have that many people in one small room there will always be someone snoring, coming late, making noise, arriving at midnight, and all of this happened every night. Next time I would choose a hostel with 4-6 beds max. Also, some of the lockers are broken and because all of the working lockers were taken I couldn't safely lock my things.
I liked the breakfast, pancakes, juice and coffee. The terrace, balcony and living room were great. No shoes policy is a good idea too. Overall very clean environment.
