Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Puerto RicoArea around the hotel felt a bit shady, you have to walk out of the block to find good spots and I felt there was a lack of elevators for the number of guests. Every time we needed to go down, we had to wait over 10 minutes because all the elevators were constantly full.
Room was clean and well-maintained, the front desk service was friendly and efficient, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to explore the surrounding areas.

United StatesArrived only to be told my reservation had been canceled for 3 rooms for one night! They were able to accommodate us (rather rudely) but we were spread all over the hotel rather than the same floor like we had requested. Valet parking was a mess. Had to retrieve something from one of our vehicles. It took 4 trips to garage and numerous phone calls between garage and hotel for them to locate the cars! The next morning saw one car brought over and they had trouble finding the other. Traffic out front of hotel was chaos!
Clean rooms, decent location. Restaurant pretty decent.

NetherlandsThe beds were super uncomfortable and the pillows were practically useless. Seemed like the toilet was leaking some water. Elevators were super slow, at peak hours we sometimes had to wait 10 minutes to get the the ground floor. And the rooftop terrace was closed due to construction, which was a real shame because that was the reason we booked this hotel.
The location was very good and the room was clean and big enough for 2 persons.

EgyptI didn’t like the size of the rooms. The hotel has no special vibe. The rooms are also no super clean, and no room service went to clean my room before 4pm until I called and asked for it. Bathrooms have no cotton buds shower caps etc. I had just moved from a Hyatt in New Jersey before arriving. Big disappointment

NetherlandsThe room was very tight for 3 persons, we didn't have much space to move. Beds were very tiny, considering one double bed for two adults (one being very tall). It could be better if they could offer queen or king size beds, which for the price, we assumed we had. We paid an upgrade with a city view, but the view wasn't really that nice as we were facing a construction work. We saw a bit of the skyline.
Location is top. Very close walking distance to the main attractions in Manhattan. Personnel is really great. We were positively surprised by the lady at the restaurant, she comes from Ecuador. Super friendly, giving recommendations and extra helpful in making choices. The guy from the luggage room was extremely helpful finding us a taxi to teh airport super fast. He is super friendly!

United StatesOur toilet handle kept on breaking and there was a crack on the sink as well as a leak on the sink water handle that wets you when you turn on the water, stayed in room 1412, let front desk know about the toilet only since it was a bigger issue for us, everything else was great, very nice staff and very clean!
