My experience was overshadowed by a significant issue with my booking. Despite reserving through Booking.com, and it being confirmed in the app and per email, my reservation wasn’t in the hotel’s system when I arrived. I had to make a new booking on the spot at a much higher rate. I’m still unsure whether this was the fault of the hotel or Booking.com, but it resulted in me paying considerably more than expected, which was a major disappointment.

The hotel’s location is fantastic, especially if you're visiting the Kansas Speedway—it’s within walking distance, and on race day, the police help pedestrians cross at the traffic lights, which was very convenient. The area around the hotel is well-maintained, with plenty of dining options and a large shopping center nearby. The hotel itself was clean, neat, and incredibly affordable at first. The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was comfy. I was also impressed by the breakfast, which was quite extensive, offering a variety of fruits, the option to make waffles and toast, as well as yogurt and eggs. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

There were several things wrong with room 211. The shower curtain rod was hanging on the wall by one screw on each side and about ready to hit someone in the head. The sink faucet was very loose. The remote control was not working, so we had to turn on/off and change channels on the side of the TV. The floor was uneven, and the dresser drawers would automatically open when someone walked by them.

Carpet in room was so badly stained, I had to wear my shoes to walk around. Half the channels didn't work, and the drawers kept opening by themselves and wouldn't stay shut

On the other side of the building from the river walk was a lot of bars. That is not what my family and I were into. There was a lot of police activity and loud noises all night until the morning.

No extra sheets or blankets, even though it had a pull out couch. No washcloths. No coffee cups, even though there was a coffee pot. No dishwasher, which I get, but the dishes/utensils there to use were not the cleanest. Staff member came by an hour before checkout to see if we were checking out, and when I went to shut the door handle, it came off in my hand. Yelled for the staff member to come back and they opened the door from the outside. I showed her what happened, and she said "a screw fell out, but it will still work", which it would turn if held right. Went to push it shut, and something stopped it, which she bent down to pick up. Realized that it was the latch and used the top lock while we packed up and left. When checking out, I told the woman at the desk what happened and she said she'd put a work order in, which I found odd that the first woman wouldn't have already put that in.

Ms Mabel the culinary specialist I want to call her, was very proficient in the variety of options and cleanliness of the dining area. Food was always hot, presented well, and dining area maintained. She was a very pleasant hospitable woman who definitely can handle her position herself but it would be wonderful if she'd get a helping hand from time to time.,as she handled everything herself during our stay but with the crowd we had definitely appropriate to have help for a mature aged woman. Other staff confirmed she handled kitchen herself

Let’s see: Room 123 The desk chair was ripped all over- had to put a towel on it to be able to sit. Had to clean the tub. The clerk had no clue where my room was and lugging 3 pieces of luggage around wasn’t fun. NO USB ports anywhere. Thank goodness I came prepared. 1st clerk not super bright, but very very pleasant, clerk after him was unpleasant. Room 222 The stay on 7/17-7/18 was better, but there was blood on the side of the bedsheet. Wasn’t me, not sure how I would get my body in to the position to bleed where it was.

I stay here several times when my landlord needs to worn on my apt. The AC worked. TV worked Lucky I booked for 17th-18th- that stay was so much better.

The toilet was low to the ground and the hard rain the morning of leaked through the window seal. There was also a strong chemical smell at first.

Front desk staff was friendly, same with breakfast person. The breakfast was good for a continental, I wasn't a big fan of the cheese omelet they had and the breakfast potatoes looked bland so I didn't try it. The waffle was the star of the show. The beds are comfy and the shower pressure was good.

Room was not made up during the day. The fold out bed had no sheets and there were no spares in the room. There was only one working ice machine.

Breakfast was ok, the sausage and eggs were a bit on the cool side, but overall breakfast was good. The room was clean but we got no servicing after the first night, had to reuse the towels.
