The furnishings were old and uncomfortable. The TV did not have the proper remote, some channels did not have sound. We felt a little cramped in space.

It was nice to have the beach close by, parking was mostly available, we were close to all retail stores and restaurants.

Carrying suitcase up/down flight of steps not fun. Noisy/unattractive view near road and dumpster. Guess we got bargain rate…?

No breakfast, but offered homemade banana bread! Friendly staff. Close to beach, restaurants and shops. Comfortable bed, nice pool.

Could have used a brighter light in shower area but that is a very minor issue.

Location is beautiful and the room had a lovely view out to the ocean. The bike path was right there and very convenient to access and go for a quick ride along the coast.

We arrived late in the evening and thankfully check-in went as smoothly as it did. We needed to wash some clothes and the staff was lovely, helping us to detergent and quarters for the machines. If you intent to check in after 9 pm make sure to inform them as the office is closed afterwards. The room itself was rather spacious as was the bathroom area, really great. There is AC, a TV, microwave, fridge and hot water kettle provided along ironing items. Our room was on ground floor level and oriented towards the sea so we could sit on the patio and look at the sea just a few yards away. It was lovely. The doors work with a door code instead of a key card so at least you cannot lose the card but remember your code.

The roosters. We were on the first floor and we couldn't sit outside. Several homeless would camp out across the way on the beach too, some which were obviously drug dealers. That wasn't fun to be around.

Two or three very minor issues like loose door closer latches etc, the main issue however was the dangerous shower/spa. Because the spa is so high, and because there are no grab handles or anything secure to hold, getting in and out is extremely dangerous. Especially when wet, it’s a serious accident waiting to happen.

Hotel prices on Kauai have gone crazy. This hotel seems to be one of the only ones that charges fairly. Bikes were great in the morning. Beach access is wonderful.

I liked how quiet the room was and the location/view from my room-ocean view. I liked that the Kapaa trail was right there. I liked being able to walk to food and shopping as well. No need to drive to those places.

Many things needed a little TLC. Could use an update on the furnishings and decorations, but then the price would probably be MUCH higher! Room lighting was confusing to use; Couldn't run the fan at night without the lights being turned on. They're probably short of a full time maintenance person. Frig in room needed defrosting. Litter on the grounds. Pool could have used a skimmer to remove floating plant debris. Bikes needed lubrication on the chain to make them easier to pedal. Leaving the driveway onto the street can take a while to get out safely.

Reasonable rates. Comfortable bed, free parking, free rental of bikes, movies and a cooler for the day. The free roaming local chickens.

Traffic is pretty bad in Kapaa so there is a lot of noise.

We stayed in both types of rooms (city view and oceanside) at different points on our trip. Both exactly meet expectations! If you want a small room for a short period of time, great value in the Cityview room. If you want the oceanside lanai experience and a bigger room for a longer stay, go with oceanside! Also everyone in the lobby is super kind and helpful.

The view was nice and the location was good. Our kids enjoyed the pool and there were plenty of food options nearby.

We’ll, there was no breakfast! We had read that light bites would be available but they were not. Also we arrived around 10:00PM. There was no one to check us in even though an envelope was left for us to tell us our room number, we had trouble finding parking.

The room furnishings are a bit dated and it could have been cleaner. The floors were a bit dirty.

Location was amazing. Walk right out onto the beach and watch the sunrise from your room. Quick walk to restaurants and bars in downtown Kapa'a.
