Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesNo cafe facility; rooms and bathrooms are basic, dated and really needs to be refurbished; no in-room slippers, bathrobes; carpet in rooms and hallways; two elevators very dark and has a certain odor.
1st time at a CQ property: great location near White House, the sights, and right next to subway access; free water bottles with refill in hallway of floor, size of room, in-room wardrobe, safe, mini ref; windows with a view; young, responsive hotel personnel; someone always present/immediately answers calls; daily housekeeping

Very comfortable bed and bedding. You could make coffee in a common room; coffee was great! Location was perfect, in the center of the city and near a train station. I could store my bags before and after check in/out, which was very helpfull.

United KingdomThe noise. DC is a noisy city which was to be expected but the windows were awful and made you think they were not closed it was so loud. Lucky for us, we are used to sleeping with ear plugs but if you normally don't pack them, I would just in case you get a room road facing, otherwise you will here conversations off the street, sirens all the time, general traffic, horns (they love using them) and the metro station trains.
We loved the location. Farragut West (Blue, Orange and Silver line metro) is literally next door and Farragut North is a block away (Red line metro) which made it easy to get around. You can even get the metro silver line from Dullies and to Farragut West (17th Street exit) and you are right at the hotel. The White House is also short walking distance. We were on the 2nd floor which had a break out area with a coffee machine (the machine also did hot water only so we could make our own tea - it's a Brit thing!). We also liked the water machine which had bottles you could fill and refill if you didn't have your own.

This was my first time staying in Club Quarters and I really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and clean. Overall, I felt safe, and I could relax well. Would book this hotel again when visiting Washington!

AustraliaThe bathrooms were a bit small compared to the rest of the room. There was also a bit of street noise, but nothing major.
A great central location, only a few blocks from the National Mall. The room was clean and the hotel is right near a train station entrance making moving around the city easy.

United States- no view / lack of privacy with windows (two big windows each facing office buildings, essentially need to keep blinds closed) - moderately noisy (housekeeping doing lots of door opening/closing in the morning, road noise is rare but not well filtered by windows) - facilities are fairly dated (bathroom has modern mirror but otherwise is somewhat aged, fitness center has a peloton that is quite well used - flickering screen, creaky/slightly loose parts)
- excellent location (~1 block from White House) - comfortable pillow + beds (among the best I've slept on away from home) - room overall felt clean; bathroom water pressure was great - friendly staff

United StatesCouldn't get the room air conditioned to my level of comfort. I think the thermostat is just a prop to let you think you have control ;-) Front desk said they'd have it checked but I never got comfortable. Insulation from outside noise is not the best but I suppose that anywhere you stay in the city you'll hear traffic noise and sirens.
Location is fantastic. Just blocks from the Whitehouse grounds and very close to 2 metro stations with access to 4 different lines so it's easy to get just about anywhere. Front desk staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming.
